Destiny Faction Theory 2 - Greek Mythology Integration (Major Update)

Update: I was bored today, so I decided to do some more research and decided to look into the geomatic figures. After doing a little more research, I found out that the Ancient Greeks used these as a method of divination, which is a synonym for prophecy. If you're not catching on to this, these symbols tie into Destiny through prophecy. The figures were also given astrological meanings, meaning that they can tell of human world events that are connected to astronomical phenomena. In simplified terms, they work like a horoscope, so the symbols may be able to read your future based off of the position of the stars and planets (you know, Sci-Fi stuff). Are you familiar with the terms "written in the stars" or "star-crossed [lovers]?" Well, these terms were used by Shakespeare. Please read the quote by him below:
O wonder! How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, That has such people in't. -William Shakespeare, The Tempest, Act V, Scene I, ll. 203-6
If you read this quote with Destiny in mind, you could associate "O Brave New World" with a.) a new game or b.) the plot of Destiny, meaning that "mankind" has moved to a "new world" where there are "many goodly creatures" (possibly meaning a wilderness system will be incorporated into the game. If you read the newest mail sack, you'll find out that a new employee helped work on Read Dead Redemption, specifically "filling the sandbox.") Also, that was from the play The Tempest, which was set on a [remote] island, like the map from Reach or Puerto Princesa. Sorry that I got a little off topic from the symbols, but I'm going to stop here for now. I'll upload some more findings latter, and any help would be appreciated for research.

I just finish reading the play Oedipus and thought that it could maybe have some connections to Destiny, since that's what the play was all about. I've based some of these new theories I formulated on a previous thread that you can find here, so reading it may enlighten your experience in this thread. Ok, now let's begin with how I arrived at this theory. If you remember from my last thread, I talked about how the Seven Seraphs can possibly relate to 7 of the Roman Gods. I'll link the quote for a quick reference:
But another definition of seraph is an angel of the highest ranks. And where do angels live? In Heaven or the Heavens! And another word for Space is The Heavens, which is where Mercury, Venus, Earth, The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are located. Also, those names relate to Roman Gods (In equivalent order: Mercury, Venus, Ceres, Diana, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn). Those Gods can translate into abilities or powers, which once again, in equivalent order are: The Messenger, Love, Earth (Agriculture), Brightness, War, Sky/Thunder (King of the Gods), and Time. The Gods Neptune (Ocean) and Pluto (Death) are left out, but could potentially be swapped out for others.
This quote is flawed because I stopped too soon. The Roman religion originated from Greek Mythology, so that means it can be traced all of the way back to Ancient Greece. I'm not going to waste time translating the Gods' names, but I'm going to make a correction; I'm switching Artemis (Diana/Moon) to Apollo (Sun) because of what I read in Oedipus. The Oracle, specifically Pythia (the oracle of Delphi), would receive her prophecies from Apollo. She would only speak these prophecies on the 7th day of each week, since that it the number most associated with Apollo (remember, Bungie loves the number 7!). This could link back to the 7 Seraphs, but I'm going to take this further. Although the faction Osiris is supposedly based off of Ancient Egyptian Mythology, the Greeks shared some mythological ideas with the Egyptian, such as the Sphinx. Anyways, Osiris was the Egyptian God of Death. This is important because death is everybody's fate, but it's interesting finding out how you get there. Also, the symbol for Osiris is an eye, which will factor into this new theory: The faction Osiris is a prophet; he/she can [metaphorically] see into your future, which is what the eye and death represent. Also, Dead Orbit could be a counter to Osiris since it seems to involve the Moon, a.k.a. Artemis, Apollo's sister. The middle of Dead Orbit's symbol looks like a seven with three bars under it, which could be a reference to Apollo (Artemis's twin) and what I have to tell you below. Moving away from the Seven Seraphs, Dead Orbit, and Osiris, let's talk about New Monarchy. To save characters, here is the image of the faction. As you can see, it has three bar and three points. If you didn't know, three is a prominent number in Ancient Greece because there are three main Gods: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Now I feel a little clueless on FWC, but if AutobahnRacer's Color Theory is correct, then it could be a coalition between the New Monarchy and Osiris called the Future War Council, which uses Osiris's prophecies to foretell any future wars, sort of like Minority Report. Well, that's all and I hope this was a tasty read for you guys. Edit: Sorry guys, I forgot to mention how Destiny will be a Science-Fantasy game, so we may be shooting lasers at flying Sphinxes for all I know. [Edited on 09.29.2012 1:45 PM PDT]

On a semi-related topic, have you seen the map put together by that guy in the flood?
It was actually by SonicJohn in the Universe forum. And we found it.
Yeah. Both of your guy's theories back that Destiny willin fact take place on Earth. [Edited on 09.25.2012 1:55 PM PDT]
