Posted by: ROBERTO jh Whether you believe it or not, realize it or not, that is a fanboy argument. And it's clear that there are too many Marty fanboys on this forum. Halo 4's music is good, great in many respects even. Is it up to Marty's standard? No, because it is going for a different standard, a more cinematic standard. It's not even trying to be Marty, so comparing it to him is just fanboyism."
The music was okay imo, but it didn't resonate with me. It didn't send shivers up my back like the old themes did. They were just sort of there in the background. There's been times when I've replayed levels just to listen to the music whilst appreciating the setting. There is no compulsion like that with Halo 4 for me. Those standards weren't up to the task imo. Halo was built on inspiration, intrigue and wonder. There was also romanticism and heroics. These are all powerful sentiments, and is what is essentially at the core of Halo, and the music reflected all of this. I have no idea what standards this new music was trying to reflect though. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to its intended purpose. If it worked for you like the others did before in creating a sense of wonder and all that then fair enough, but if it's supposed to be something else then I wonder what that something else is supposed to be.
