So Bungies going to ban alot of innocent people? (3 bungie comments)

The new update had some nice things to say: free map, free stuff on 7/7, and cheaper maps.... But then there was a section of bad news that some of you might have noticed: and it struck more than a few questions across my mind. -how does bungie plan on banning all the people with modded maps, and modded pictures on their fileshares? -how will they implement this new update so every last person with a modded item knows of this update? -and does this update count towards the 100 downloadable files on your harddrive you are allowed? I believe that this update is unreasonable, and heres why it would be illogical: most people who have modded maps on their fileshares are not going to read the front page update. honestly, its a strange thing to ban people who have downloaded these maps. Its more sensible to ban the creators. second, this seems like a very extreme action to take, because modding has yet to hit halo 3's matchmaking. I know its all cautionary, but the thought of being banned from playing halo online over the fact your friend gave you a modded map with extra elephants seems excessive. What is everyones thoughts? •
Posted by: Recon Number 54
Posted by: Nox Vulpes You guys need to get to work on actual problems. I can think of a hundred things more urgent than lolcats pictures circulating through your file sharing program. Seriously, what about IP flooding? What about network inconsistency? What about all the ACTUAL problems in your game? Is banning a guy for having a pic of a walrus with a bucket in his fileshare more important to you than banning a guy who IP floods matchmaking games?
Is protecting themselves from a lawsuit important? Because this will, and likely has happened. "Junior, what in the HELL are you looking at?" "Nothing mom, some guy just sent it to me in Halo!" "How the hell did a video game get that sort of pictures in it?" "I don't know mom, it's not MY fault!" "Well then, I am calling my lawyer and finding out whose fault it is, these Halo people or these Xbox Live people, because THEY can't be allowed to send images like this into MY house over a videogame!" So, what is more important? Keeping XBL and Bungie from pulling the plug on the WHOLE thing to settle a multi-million dollar class action suit and a PR nightmare, or the fact that you sometimes encounter idiots who overload your router with pings and you don't/can't set your router to ignore that traffic? Actual problems? Oh yeah, this is one. If you can't see that, then you have blinders on. And as always, I am not a Bungie employee, I am not a Bungie spokesperson, I am a Bungie fan that is old enough to understand the real world pressures and considerations that big businesses have to deal with every day.
What you just said about the kid/mom thing i do not agree on, considering this game is 18+. yes, there are kids playing this, but if their parents bought them this game then i am sure that they would not be to strict on what their son/daughter is seeing or playing, but hey i could be wrong... XD
