Some of you have spent a lot of time on this site, maybe even years. Have you ever learned anything that's actually helped you, outside of gaming?
I know that for me personally I've picked up some tips and tricks about life, especially in the flood. Then again, for 1 good advice you'll find about 30 stupid suggestions. However, I definitely don't think I haven't learned anything.
How do you feel about this?

I'll admit something that might surprise people. A few sources linked in discussions on this site have actually found their way in to one of my uni essays (1, 2, 3) Obviously you have to be a little more careful on an internet forum than with academic journals, but any place that people share information can be a potential resource.
