Working With Bungie without working AT Bungie?

As Recommended by Recon Number 54, here's the relocation of my thread: One of the new Jobs at Bungie is "Localization Editor - Spanish (Castilian)" and I've been wondering: Has Bungie ever hired personnel who don't necessarily have to work AT the Studio? (Someone who lives in another country but still manages to work with Bungie). Here's what he had to say about the topic: "They are ALL about in-person synergy (even Skip participating in round tables had the POSSIBILITY of an unexpectedly good outcome, at least the possibility). It was experimented with Bungie-West and I don't think that was the sort of studio that the team wants or works best with. For example, I don't think that _________ would be either inclined (or blessed if they wanted) to telecommute. Marty Staten Jones anyone"

 • I feel like "localization editor" for Castilian Spanish would probably be one of the very few positions where you'd be allowed to work off-site. Of course, at times you'd probably have to be willing to fly in for a week or two at a time because nothing beats in-person meetings, but as the job is just essentially translating and making the words make sense in Spanish Spanish, I definitely think there's a good shot this could be one of those few where you could work off-site.
