Making Sense Of It All

Am I the only one here who thinks there's a logical explanation for every deviation from the mainstream universe, because some days it awfully feels like it. While I realize 343 had to take some artistic liberties when they were designing Halo 4, I personally believe there is a logical explanation for everything they did... well, mostly everything. My own headcanon suggests that the Jackals in Halo 4 belong to a subspecies of Jackal I would call Monitors, who were simply Jackals who went down a different evolutionary path than the common Jackal (the subspecies I dub the Vulture). Monitor Sniper helmets are different because Monitors don't have the elongated snout of the Vultures. Stuff like that. So, do you think there's an explanation for everything?

 •
Posted by: grey101 were is the logic in all aliens look the same? Since the elites mainly fought white humans i guess if they saw a black one he must be some bizarre looking subspecies right? Thats exactly what you are saying. Not all jackals look the same for all we know these jackals could be coming directly from their homeworld while the ones we fought in the main trilogy were high charity born. Try thinking of logial reasons instead of insulting ones.
I think everyone has been thinking logical here. In Halo CE and 2 the Grunts had forward pointing eyes, nails/claws on the finger and feet, and spike growing out of their knees and elbows. Halo CE/2 In Halo 3 and Reach the Grunt lost their nails, the spike growing out and the eyes are now at the sides of their heads. Halo 3 Reach Now in Halo 4....needless to say, outside of a similar body build these things dont look like they are related. Halo 4 Grunt. Humans dont have totally different body structures depending on what part of the world they are from. People from Africa have curly hair but it's in the same place as everyone else, and people from Asia have slanted yes but, again, their eyes are in the same place as everyone else. I mean even look at cats of the world! The lion, tiger, and leopard all basically look the same except for the specializations need for their environment which dont totally change the structure of the animal. Everyone here can tell what a feline is with little knowledge on that whole family of animals.
Posted by: hotshot revan II This People seem to forget that Covie looks have always changed with each new game, so why act as if it's a suprise? CE jackal Halo 2 jackal Halo 3 jackal
Come on, man, all these creatures follow the same design. They have the pointy snot, the bulbous eyes, and that crest. The slight adjustments are clearly based on the new graphics. Does this follow the same design of those pics you linked? Halo 4 Jack The body of the creature looks mostly the same but now the their necks are pointing forward, no bulbous eyes, and the snout is tremendously shorter. Their changes are less drastic than the Grunt's but you can still notice a definite change. [Edited on 12.31.2012 12:13 PM PST]
