Bungie Weekly Update
A light update this week, but with heavy news about stuff that's happening next week, which, coincidentally is the birthday of the original Halo for Xbox. Coincidence? Nothing is a coincidence.

Yo Does anyone else have a good feeling about next week!!! I dont wanna get my, or anyone elses hopes up but i got a feeling we may get a release DATE! Hear why i think that just some evidence to suggest. 1) Next week is Halo Combat Evolved Birthday 2) Bungie Allowed a look into multyplayer and 1up was allowed to play see and write a 13 page cover story on Halo 3. 3) If you look at 1up's "3 weeks of Halo 3" on 11.15 Wendesday (Next wednesday, next week, which is What bungie(frankie) Called "big week") 1up has a description of what happens on that day and under it says "Special Halo Announcment". 4) And so many other pieces like ps3 is coming out b4 x-mas so microsoft wants to counter soon with a Big Xbox 360 release like they said they wanted to, and that could be Halo 3 in early 2007.

It would be awesome to have a female voice for Spartans in Muliplayer. Maybe you could use the voice actress of SPARTAN-458 from dead or alive 4?

She already did some voice-work on Halo 2, so It shouldn't be too hard to get that started up with her again for Halo 3. Plus, she wouldn't be girlish sounding. But maybe thats what some girls would want for their character, a girly Spartan. . .

Can't wait for next week. By the way EGM has some pretty good stuff on halo 3 on their website. For that "bloodcurdling scream by a girl" you should get Angela Gossow, [url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYyqzw_BqVs[/url], she does a pretty good job at out-screaming the chief.

Will water be as thin as air like in first 2 halos? I didn't like falling to my death on levels like headlong when i jumped into the water. I thought master chief was an uber 1337 cyborg of the future who could do anything not including sinking like a paperweight. I mean like, every first person shooter uses water for strategic implementation of levels and halo lacks that one essential quality. Please Frankie, I beg you to make them put it in. Make master chief swim like a fish! Give him a suit upgrade with a big fin on the back!

Wow! I think the female voice for a Spartan would be cool! (No lame dying squelling/screams though please). Now I can pretend that I'm Linda or Kelly :] (He guys play as girl in WoW all the time, hehe). Good thinking Bungie!

Let me be the first to say this so that way we get off on the right foot.... I love Team Carnage and enjoy its many diverse game types. It was the only list (besides 6v6) That did the whole Big Team right without Uber lag...I liked the fact that it was like the fun of a custom game and the ease of a playlist...As mentioned earlier, Carnage is extremly diverse... anything from Driver Seat CTF or Warthog CTF to Halo CE or Covanant slayer...I could go on but I'm sure you get the point. Carnage also didn't have as many flamers either...If you decide not to bring Carnage back... at least cycle some of its fun games back into matchmaking

Lord, that was a very long show. I love the 1up jingle though. Here's what I managed to take down about the new maps. Snow Bound -Covenant snowy design. -Designed for FFA play -It has walls that people can walk though, but bullets do not pass through. High Ground -Asymmetrical map. -Built for mostly 1 flag CTF play. -Has a beach and base. Somewhat like Relic. Valhalla -Like Blood Gulch, but smaller. -More diverse environments than Coag. -Made for vehicle play. Vehicles -An ATV type vehicle that the driver cannot shoot from but the passenger can shoot his own gun. Spartan Laser -A sniper rifle like beam that focuses in on a target, charges and fires. Anything it its way, BLAMMO! -Made to be a long range anti-vehicle weapon. Music/sound effects -Music in Halo 3 will be more somber. -Different ways you hit things at different velocities will now make different noises. All in all, this looks like a great game! -Bee

Nice update! I'm glad to hear the water looks really good and is interactive to a certain extent. One of the things that always bugged me in Halo 2 is on Delta Halo when you're travelling across the lake on a gondola and if you fall into the lake the Master Chief makes no impact with the water, it's as if he just falls through. Looking forward to next week!

awww I like Carnage. It was designed by Bungie and I love Bungie! But what Bungie says, goes and I guess Carnage goes with it. *shurgs* guess i gotta start playing Team Slayer again and raise my ranks to prove I can take it to the modders!

It's a great idea to add the female voices. Any extra features are always fun which is why I liked the option to be an Elite so much. It's just nice to have something different then everyone else. If it isn't too much trouble, then I say go for it. I'd definitely choose a female voice.
