It has all of six Covenant species, including actually threatening Brutes
Heretics behave differently to regular Covenant
On top of all of the Covenant vehicles you have to fight, the Flood sometimes control Human vehicles, including tanks
There are two varieties of Sentinels and also the huge Enforcers
And there are the Heretic Leader, Prophet of Regret and Tartarus fights
And in the Gravemind/High Charity levels the different Covenant species all fight each other and the Flood
Anyone else agree?

I agree completely. Both enemy variety and enemy design were excellent in Halo 2.

The boss fights sucked, even the one in Halo 3 was bad. Actually threatening Brutes? You serious? They've been bullet spunges in each game so far. Halo 2 had the worst Brutes. High Charity and Gravemind are Godly, I will admit. I absolutely loved the Gravemind level.

If Halo 2 had Custom Search Forge and Theater, there would be no question that it's the greatest Halo game. for me, it already is though.
Posted by: XxXAlesanaXxX Halo 2 was just good. The one thing to note though is that the Brutes were terrible in Halo 2. I still loved them but the Halo 3 Et Tu Brute video thing pretty much sums up how I feel about the Halo 2 brutes. They were basically just bullet sponges.
Try H-4 if you really want to appreciate the bullet sponge aesthetic. (Cripes) There was a quick-kill solution to H-2 Brutes. Either needle or carbine headshot. I think their berserking mode (unlike H-3's four year old running around without aim) changed your options. You really had to take stock of enemies and determine when to take out the 2nd to last guy. H-3 Brutes just seem like a half assed version of Elites. I got the gist of the viddoc, but, felt they failed. The gorilla charge of an H-2 Brute was way more memorable/threatening than anything that happened in H-3 for me.
They were even worse once we had a headshot capable weapon in our hands...Brutes were no threat in Halo 2. Halo 3's legendary mode was also easier than before but i felt the Brutes weren't threatening there either. Had they gone berserk more like in Halo 2 with their Power Armour it could have provided more of a challenge since you would have to focus on dealing with the berserking Brute, who may not be dispatch-able easily due to the Power Armour. -
