How the Heck Did the Brutes Lose Technology?

I am referring to their civil war before the Covenant arrived. How the heck does a worldwide civilization lose technology in a single war?

 •
Posted by: crazyfoomandude Because the Brutes made amazingly powerful WMD's (well, on a global scale they were powerful) and blasted themselves apart. Imagine if all nukes were launched on Earth, the 'lucky' survivors would probably be little more then cavemen.
There would be no survivors. But I think thats what you meant when you said 'lucky.'

 • Nukes give off an EMP effect not to mention if enough of them are used it can affect the climate. You also have to consider irradiated sites which would kill off populations and force relocation. Pretty much all the smart brutes died in the war and the ones few that lived couldn't pass on their knowledge on a large scale. I don't even know how a laptop works but i use one near daily, meaning the average person doesn't understand the technology at hand even though they use it. See me in the welding department tho.
