Halo 4 no longer feels like Halo.

Halo 2 and 3 were the best in my opinion. Halo 4 is an overall great game but it is missing many aspects that make halo what it is. When you play halo 4 it almost feels like Reach all over again. Halo 4 is way too repetitive and I don't understand why we have custom loadouts when nearly everyone uses one of the three long range assault rifles. Every multiplayer match I play I feel like I'm playing on the same maps over and over again. The new crimson map pack looks and feels like the original maps. I don't understand why they have several maps that are only available to forge and custom games. I would love to play BTB on the space/asteroid map but I can only do it in custom games. It's like making cookies and saying you can only have 4 out of the 10 different cookies right now. If that makes any sense...I hate regicide, why can't it be Lone Wolves? Wheres action sack?! Wheres grifball?! Whatever happened to dual wielding?! On a more positive note I feel that 343 has done very well with the campaign and story. It fits in greatly with the rest of the Halo saga. The visuals look amazing and the music is awesome. Spartan Ops is descent, but multiplayer is just bland and very repetitive. I could rant about this all day but I won't because you most likely don't want to read a bunch of poorly organized paragraphs. The main point is that Halo 4 does not feel like a halo should in my opinion.

  • The only way they can save halo is making halo 5 and 6 more like halo 1-2-3 classic arena style gameplay shooter which is not "codified" or like reach or a "codified reach". It also has to be unique and only add a few things which change the gmaeplay alot e.g forge, dual wielding and equipment. Not loadouts or AA's or tactical packages and other blam!. That's straying to far from the core halo formula. Not to mention halo 5 needs quality memorable maps. 343I NEED TO REALISE THIS!!! EDIT: IMO Well AA's were good in reach.   • I have to agree. The story was amazing but it was boring to play. Halo 4 would have been better off as a movie :/

  • I agree, it lacks fundamental core values all previous Halo's were held to, It is no longer fair and balanced. The Charm of Halo was quite like a basketball game any group can come back from a lrage defecit and still win. I still fail understand the need to reward the player that is winning by allowing him to keep winning, it creats lopsidedness. The other missing peice is allowinf people to join after a match is in progress, another core value of Halo was the perfect balance, this devalues the team sport aspect of the game. If I come in half way through a match am I going to feel bad if I lose, No, why should I I had no effect on the first part of the game. This leads to players playing for there own stats, and completely degrades the Team enviornment. The worst part is they amped up ranged weapons and nerfed close hand combat, I understand increasing the ranged side, but did they need to make the sword and hammer useless? And don't even get me started on the light shield v armor lock. And last but not least there is not a single level in Halo 4 that I'm excited to play as the game loads, they are all visually beautiful, but have no arena-like semetry or balance built into them, it's like they let the artists design the level without the players in mind. WE MISS YOU BUNGIE!!!!

  • meh, the multiplayer is fine. it'll be like Reach. they'll add playlists, just wait. the problem was the enemies and the new weapons. it's turned into some fantasy shooter like Star Wars. nothing is explained as well as it is in the earlier games. at least projectile weapons are understandable.
