ITT: I thought the geomantic symbols were an alphabet

NEVERMIND :'(

Posted by: BahamutZER0 I thought we'd settled on them being these?
What the?! Nobody told me about those. /thread -_-

ORIGINAL POST Or Greek (if you include the blank version). Classical Latin If you include the blank letter, there's 24 variations of layouts. (Greek) However if you exclude it there are only 23 variations. (Classical Latin) We were given 7 of them (check the most recent page of available avatars). If you combine them with each other you get 23 versions. Here's the alphabet. Oh, and the number of squares in each of the avatar letters adds up to 42. That could be completely irrelevant, I've no idea. 'Destiny' has 7 letters; there are 7 avatars. It could spell Destiny. Possibly unnecessarily complex developments; Green on Red Red on Green Number system template Because the letters are all vertically symmetrical, the number system must counteract this symmetry or letters will share values.
[Edited on 12.12.2012 10:05 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: BahamutZER0 I thought we'd settled on them being these?
It's Bungie, for all we know, there may be multiple secrets behind these few little symbols.

Nobody told me about those. /thread -_- That seriously sucks. I thought I was onto something much more complex than already-made symbols. [Edited on 12.12.2012 9:55 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: HDhacker I don't know if someone has discovered this or not, But I took the number of highlighted squares and simply looked them up on the ASCII chart. Here is what I got: 1 had 4 highlighted squares 2 had 7 highlighted squares 4 had 6 highlighted squares 6 = acknowledge 7 = bell 4 = end of transmission The only thing that i can think of with this little theory I *may* have created could be a message that may be similiar along the lines of: Can you acknowledge? Bell, do you acknowledge? Do you acknowledge Bell? Please acknowledge. *end of transmission*
Bell would make a good name for an AI, maybe in destiny?

 • I've tried to implement at least 7 number systems for the positioning of the squares, but it doesn't work. Somehow each of the squares determine a possible letter depending on where they are. Eventually I managed to get a working system, but then the combined letters break it. I'll find a way. Also, I have produced another alphabet based on the given letters being placed on combined letters from the original image, and a red on green alphabet. Here's the number system testing ground I use.
