Due to the fact that during the Activision/Infinity Ward case, Destiny's release window was revealed as fall 2013, should an ARG, or slow reveal start happening VERY soon?

Soon (TM). I expect we will see something either late this year or early next. This is assuming that, as is their practice, Bungie is going to do a public beta, which cannot be started much later than May or June for them to actually have time to change something. Of course, they could be doing a lightning release where one day they just say "Here's the beta to our new game and 10,000 codes. First come; first served." I think perhaps they are trying not to step on 343i's toes by announcing their next big time right before or right after the release of Halo 4. That, and it would probably split there own fan-base in a way they would not want. [Edited on 11.04.2012 9:49 AM PST]

Oh did you pick a bad analogy for me. I have forever hated surprises due to the fact that I have paranoia. As for Christmas, I basically go to the shop and pick the stuff myself, I treat it as a time to be with the family, not a time to get free stuff. However, I do understand your perspective, and also know that most people are not like me, so I will concede to you :)

I've said this before and I'll say it again: stop looking for/expecting an ARG. It's like knowing what you're going to get for Christmas; all the fun is removed. ©

It'd be cool if the ARG was something like Bungie Day 2012's, with the puzzles and stuff. Something which every Screw can get involved in, regardless of where they live.

I'm hoping with Halo 4 out of the bag officially on Tuesday, that some sort of "gag order" might be lifted. I'd take a picture of a barrel at this point. Every game has a barrel. An exploding barrel would be even better.

That seems like a valid thought process indeed, I love ARGs too, so would love it to be true.
-
Ehh, that's a valid point. How would you feel if they updated Reach so if you did something at a certain time or place with other people it would reveal a tidbit of information about the game?
-
I don't know about anyone else, but ARGs seem a worn out and tired concept by this point to me. Like Halo 4's Didact stuff. Seriously bored me because of how predictable (and cheaply done) it was. If Destiny had one, I would hope that it involved more IRL content rather than ohnoesyoutubevideos and omgtheychangedapictureonthewebsite.

Hmm, maybe. I think they should follow in the footsteps of Valve and their TF2 ARGs. They keep the community fun and active. I personally love it when the community comes together and solves a puzzle put out by Valve. But, that's just my opinion, as some people may feel otherwise.
Posted by: Helveck I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing more hints and clues come shortly into January. But obviously that's just me guessing.
I'm getting excited!
Posted by: Eco Maiden Hmm. If this means Activision will be curating the ARG, then I fear it will not be as in-depth as previous ones curated by Bungie themselves :/
I imagine it will be left to Bungie's discretion, as it was former.
Activision will develop and execute marketing plans and programs for the Products in a manner that is customary for other caliber (or equivalent) interactive software entertainment products published by Activision
It doesn't mention an ARG in the contract, but it is possible that an ARG might start up around christmas time. Actually, probably yes. I imagine it will be soon (tm).
