Do you think ?

Do you think that ancient humanity had the technology and knowledge to create its own set of halo rings as well as a couple of arks ? I mean the book clearly states that they were stronger or equal to forerunners, so they can ?

I like to think Ancient Humanity surpassed the Forerunners in technological ability (hence their creation of a Flood 'cure'), and they only lost due to being outnumbered and weakened after the human-Flood war. I also like to think the 'Forerunner' crystal on Reach is actually of human design. It's clearly not Precursor as it would have needed the Organon to work.
Wasn't the cure confirmed false? I am fairly certain the cure didn't actually do anything and it was just the Flood retreating because humanity proved themselves worthy to uphold the Mantle by sacrificing a third of their population. Also, where was it said that Precursor tech needs the Organon to work? Bornstellar admitted it was just a myth, but he hoped it was true.
Well it wasn't really a cure or anything, the person being infected by the Flood still got infected and effectively died...but to my understanding the "cure" would be a sort of counter-infection on the Flood and would start killing or harming them in some way, which forced their retreat *shrug* That's more or less what I took it to be, the people infected by the Flood who had the "cure" still died, but their deaths introduced a counter-infection of sorts into the Flood that was harming them.
Yeah, unfortunately that option is not available anymore, because the flood adapted and came back immune to it, i think thats why they say there is no cure anymore, because it works only once.

 • Most likely, but the humans didn't need to do something like that because they found there own effective way of destroying the flood

 • Honestly, the only thing I think of when I think about ancient humanity is the UNSC with nothing but Spartans. Don't know why, I just don't really see humanity as being "up there" with technology close to, or as advanced as the forerunners.

 • I'm pretty sure the T.O or whatever that Lords name was stated that there was no cure for the flood during the confrontation with the T.O and the Bornstellar Didact.
I don't know, there is debate towards the cure being fake and they did have to ally with the San 'Shyuum.

 •
Posted by: ferrrari First wtf is organon? sounds like a halo version of energon. Second, yes i do think our race back in the day could make halo rings.
Read Cryptum. It's a mythical device that could alter and use Precursor artifacts and technology.

There was a huge Crystal-like thing in the Forerunner Capital.

 • Ancient humanity wouldn't need halo rings or an Ark, when they already had a cure for the Flood infection. But they probably could've with enough time and resources.

 • I don't honestly know. Did the ancient humans know of the Flood back then? If they knew of the Flood then I would imagine so, yes.
