Paying for Facebook?

If being a regular attention whore is not enough for you, now there is a solution... Facebook is now is testing a feature which allows users to promote their personal posts for a fee. This may not be news to everyone, since the feature has already been tested in New Zealand and several other countries over the last few months. Still, what are your thoughts? [Edited on 10.04.2012 7:29 AM PDT]

 • I can actually see this being ideal for people running businesses on Facebook. You'd have a better chance of catching more people's attention, and get more business. However for the regular person, I don't see how this would be really useful, unless you're one of those people who are like "Notice me! Notice me! NOTICE ME!!!!".

In fact, I don't think they've taken any steps at all to hide it.
What gets me is why would investors even think it was a good purchase at the IPO, there wasn't even really a plan on how to turn a profit with Facebook, other than with Ad saturation. Never seemed like it would produce a profit to me at least.
