If you could re-live a moment of your life...

...and change it, what moment would it be and why?

 •
Posted by: SilverBulitt82 Probably 2001 or 2002 back in my early college days. I would change a few things.
What kind of things?

 •
Posted by: CIint Beastwood I don't know. I regret a ton of small moments, but nothing life changing. I do really regret never writing to my friend Evan after I moved in the 4th grade. He apparently really cared and made sure I had his address and phone number to stay in touch, but I was terrified at the thought of having to talk to his parents (I used to be extremely shy) so I basically snubbed him. Years later I went back to California and went to another friend's birthday party. He had invited Evan and told him I would be there, but Evan never showed. I still don't know if he didn't show because he was mad at me. Makes me sad...
That is really sad :(

 •
Posted by: Bokonnon
Edit: Bokonnon, I am Canadian, not American.
Oh, nevermind then.
I am Dutch through my mothers side. There is a little bit of German as well. My Oma's Opa was German.
Posted by: BROWN HAWK
Posted by: Bokonnon
Edit: Bokonnon, I am Canadian, not American.
Oh, nevermind then.
I'm sure that doesn't detract from the pleasantness of Netherlands women in any way.
I believe the retraction was more about Canadian Women not being as he described American Women. In my experience, Dutch women are very nice. [Edited on 10.01.2012 3:00 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: Marinade I doubt I'd ever make it to a world cup. I'm Canadian. Canada hasn't been in a World Cup since, what the 70's? He'd watched a couple of games when I was 19 playing in the Men's league of my town. He said me and my brother were good enough to try out for pro teams in the Netherlands. He offered to pay for us to move there and live with him while we tried out and got settled.
I see it as like Billy Bean in Moneyball. "Cut the crap, Pete. Would you have drafted me in the first round? "I would have picked you in the 9th round. No signing bonus. I think that would have convinced you to accept that scholarship."

 •
Posted by: BROWN HAWK
Posted by: Marinade The only thing I wonder about is what would have happened if I'd taken my great uncle up on his offer to move to the Netherlands to try playing soccer professionally. How a lady should be. American females are arrogant and complain all the time and cheat on you in secret. And then take your kids and half your money. American females grow up like females on TV. They like the show Desperate Housewives. Netherland females are kind and gentle and take care of kids and aren't -blam!-es. You missed out on a good chance, fool.

 •
Posted by: BROWN HAWK
Posted by: RaptorPilot318 In 8th grade, I was dating the perfect girlfriend. We were watching a movie together, and at the end, we got up to leave, and at the door to the street, I held both of her hands... Wished her goodbye, and kissed her on the cheek. I should have done it on the lips, for I've yet to have the chance again, and she's forever in my heart. /romantic nostalgia
Awww. I sort of wish I had asked out the girl that I once liked for around 6 years.
Slightly a long time. I thought I waited too long at a year and a half, and am devastated at 3 and a half. • I can't change any one moment to bring me where I want to be. I figure the best thing I could have done to get me where I'd like to be is to have never made the choice to quit skating. A love for hockey would have served me well in my school years. Maybe I'd have her wearing my ring instead of his.

I am pretty happy where my life is now, and I don't know what implications changing something might bring.
Yeah, I know how that feels. Well, one, my life isn't interesting and hasn't consisted of major choices, and two, I don't dwell on changing what I can't. [Edited on 10.01.2012 2:18 AM PDT]
