Bungie.net gold?

I think a Bungie.net gold service would be cool. features: - instead of making 7 threads a day, you could make 77 - Blue text - Exclusive avatar - Exclusive title bar - Bungie.net email - Facebook and Twitter integration I am thinking $7.77 a month is fair. Something cool for Bungie.next. What do you think? [Edited on 09.22.2012 8:46 PM PDT]

 • To the oP: I started out to reply to your idea, as if I liked it. Then while i was making my post, I decided against it. I shouldn't support something that I wouldn't take part in my self. Sure others might be willing to shell out the extra coin, but some of us don't have money to burn. And $8 a month is a little steep. 10 bucks shy of a hundered a year. I don't even pay that much for Live. Sure, if people are willing to pay, go for it. It would be a nice way to change the scenary around here. But I would like your additions to be applied to member title. It would still give a person a reason to be active in the community. How about $0.77 cents a month. If you add in tax it would equall to about 10 bucks a year. Much more do able.

 • Could be alright but I doubt a lot of people would sign up for it.

 • No, if they did that I would probably abandon hope for this place. I'm not paying for exclusive additions that need to be included free in the next iteration of B.net.

 • Just use coup if you want the text. Also, I never knew you could only make 7 threads a day...

 •
Posted by: abDawg64 Ummm, No.. Would spawn Elitism (again)..
Yeah, but we'll have it anyways. In any way, shape or form where there is hierarchy, there is elitism. For once, I actually can't see this as being a bad idea. Would I buy Bungie Gold? Probably not. Would it have an adverse affect on me in any way if it were implemented? Nope, not at all.

 • Sorry to tell you bud, but 4chan Gold was scrapped a long time ago. So Moot made a 4chan Gold 2.0 A.K.A. That Damn Captcha Pass.
Posted by: funkbrotha10 I'm still waiting for my 4chan gold to kick in.
• It's Ken we're talking about here, does he even NEED a reason to pay for this? No offense Ken, but you would buy a bottle of urine if it had the Bungie Logo on it.
Posted by: cameo_cream Honestly.... why would you pay for this?
• I'm thinking this sounds like a poor excuse to charge for something completely unnecessary.

 • Maybe a couple bucks for some more improved features or something, but other than that it would cause elitism.

 •
Posted by: spartain ken 15 - instead of making 7 threads a day, you could make 77
I'm willing to bet that a very large percentage of Bungie.net users hardly utilize the ability to make even a single thread on a daily basis. 7 threads is an actually stretch for the majority -- 77 is just ludicrous.
- Blue text
See: Coup.
- Exclusive avatar
See: Coup.
- Exclusive title bar
See: Coup.
- Bungie.net email
Why should Bungie provide these services when there are dozens of free and popular channels to exchange email? This is just another service that Bungie would have to monitor and build; It doesn't seem worth it.
- Facebook and Twitter integration
I'm expecting this to be already a feature in the Bungie.next.
I am thinking $7.77 a month is fair. Something cool for Bungie.next. What do you think?
$93.24/year for access to some of these unnecessary features seems a bit unfair. As previously stated, Bungie already has a leash around my wallet, I'd rather not have to pay for features I don't want, need, and could easily be garnered through Coup.

 •
Posted by: Ockeghem spartain ken wants to be able to post 77 topics daily and it be normative. Bad Idea. But really, I wouldn't pay anything for those features. It is basically paying for some type of status here.
this

I'd rather put that money towards the BUNGiE foundation or something.
You know what? I could get behind the idea of a badge, custom title or some other forum perk being associated with that. With something like a 1 year life on the badge/title and stackable levels for continued/repeat participation/donation. I like that. It is money, but it is not going to anything but a charity and the reward (beyond the personal reward of knowing that you were charitable) is non-physical and not permanent.
That would be cool. I should donate too.
It would (of course) be an immediate e-peen weapons race. I would suggest the ability to toggle the badge off (in profile settings) when the cries of "look who gets on their knees in front of Bungie everytime Bungie unzips their pants" get too annoying.
I just do not know what kind of people would make fun of people for donating. It would still give people more of an incentive to donate. In the end it would still be a good cause.
