Crimson Taught Me an Important History Lesson

So, after I downloaded Crimson and played it for awhile, I noticed in the storyline that they talk about the Confederacy as if it was powerful. I was confused at this as the game takes place after the Civil War and looked up the backstory on the developer's website. Anyway, after reading through the alternate timeline I realized that Lincoln wouldn't have been regarded as the great president he is today if he didn't win the Civil War. Why is it that Bungie always gets the most in depth universes? [Edited on 12.05.2011 4:29 PM PST]

 •
Posted by: BakedJuggaLotus if anything all i know is i dont understand how bungie is part of so many games that they didnt make its like hey buddy make a great game so i can profit hehehe money
bungie ... the new wannabe Microsoft. All the greed, none of the glory. Biggest joke is only being able to get the one title (and that as a favour) after 2 years of aerospace. Guess all those Indie developers are not THAT hungry.

 •
Posted by: MarkFanous
Posted by: CTN 0452 9 Of course not. If Lincoln wouldn't have won the Civil War the United States would have been split in half and slavery would have continued. He would have gone down in history as the president who let it all fall apart.
but someone wouldve eventually come across and fixed the problem, it just wouldnt have been lincoln
Except 'problem' still exists. In the backwater that is American democracy there are a number of reasons for equality to be supressed. Most obvious example is the right to vote ... removed if you happen to have been convicted of a felon. You dont like the laws ... tough, you have no rights (mmm, is that where bungie got the motto?). Example #2 ... again America, Communist party anyone? Odd that a legitimate system of government, taught in schools, is not allowed to be represented in the land of the free. Lets look overseas (rather than keep picking on the ole USA) ... Saudi Arabia and Vatican City, not votes if you are born female. Do we hear a vocal majority? 'but someone wouldve eventually come across and fixed the problem ... maybe not.

 •
Posted by: Onyx81 Whatever. Lol. You understand what I was implying. Still, even if the game was a rushed favor, it still is good.
Understood what you was implying ... but also knew it to be wrong. good == opinion. Put it this way ... if it was so good wouldn't it be attracting other indie titles to the crimson stable? (That and all the free goodies that aerospace promises) But if you think its a great game go for it. Know people who still think Viva Pinata was the best xbox title EVER.

(little more to a 'universe' that a soft story) bungie didnt actually do much for this game. The most you could say is that they pressured an ex-business partner into making a quick game so that aerospace would have at least one game to show for 20+ months of effort. Shame your "history lesson" research did not extend to the games development itself - lol.
I know this. Which is why I said "gets" and not "makes".
Except gets actually equates to "Stinky Pete (Parsons) of Aerospace gets a favor from his ex-partner Jordan Weisman to silence the chirping of crickets in the otherwise empty aerospace title list". Now, whilst on a point of grammar ... you also mentioned "universes" ... which kinda implies more that a single title to get - lol. [Edited on 12.08.2011 3:53 AM PST]

 • That Bungie went from making great games to -blam!- little mobile games that are helping kill real games like Halo.
