Easiest way to get "This just happened" achievement!!!!
every time u get a checkpoint to save and quit and if you die to go to the dashboard and go back to the game. You will start at your checkpoint with your death count reset to zero making the achievement "that just happened", much easier. Stop watching the speed runs and other videos and just follow this simple trick!

When doing this does the timer rest too or just the death count?

I recently did The Library on Legendary died 4 times before I got past the first checkpoint then comnpleted the rest of the level with out dying once.

I got this and the 30min achievement at the same time, on Legendary. Wasn't too hard.

I already got the achievement, and it was pretty easy. Not too easy, not too challenging. I bet one of my friends could use this though. Nice find anyway! :D

I tried the Reach way you guys were describing and it didn't work; was just looking down one of the shafts to see how it looked and fell. Quit and saved and made it, but no achievement. The legit way is to always think about defense: Always be backing up and ignore everything the Monitor says. Is easy to forget about defilade - how you can turn a simple corner and be at an advantage...always think about dropped grenades and execute Flood management. Except for one particular area, this mindset will get you through the whole thing on Legendary.

Local is an absolute no, but I've heard mixed stories about doing it online. Seems like if you do it over XBL your partner IS allowed to die.

If you stick and enemy they may jump at you causing you to die. That happened to me a few times but luckily I survived. If you are going to throw Plasma Grenades, I would recomend throwing them down at the ground rather than just sticking them. I myself used Farg Grenades during the process of getting the Achievement.

Holy -blam!-, it worked!!! Awesome find man! I died twice thanks to some dang rocket Flood and my own grenade that flew towards me after another explosion. Yet, I still got the achievement! The instant you see yourself die, immediately hit the guide button and go to the dashboard.

I think this would HAVE to work actually. Since the part where you died isn't saved, it's as if anything past your last save (save meaning save and quit, not just getting a checkpoint) never happened.

I'm going to try this later. If it works, I'm going to come back here and virtually shake your hand. So let me get this straight. You can die all you want throughout the level, but as long as you save, quit, and go the dashboard, and come back and make to the end without dying, you get it? [Edited on 11.24.2011 6:54 PM PST]

If you go o the dashboard as soon as you die, it really does reset it! This made the achievement soooo much easier
