• *tosses two cents* I was a little disappointed how the game feels like it's an ipad game put onto the iphone. I was hoping there would be some changes made that weren't. The text seems light and pixelated, and trying to steer the ships extremely accurately is difficult because the slightest movements make massive changes in direction. I've played both versions a good bit. Please consider this my constructive criticism. I really do like the game.

 • Android says what? Honestly this game looks fun, even without Bungie supporting it. I'd like to try it. >.<

 • I have to get this and Minecraft now... my iPhone's memory is sooo low.

If so it aint going to fly on the mobile market.
You shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions. They were waiting for the announcement of the new iPhone, which turned out to be the iPhone 4S, so they wouldn't come out with something, and have it not work for the next platform or not implement one of the new features for the phone a couple of weeks later after they released it. Which I guess was a good plan if something happpened, but it turns out for games, there was nothing really implemented for the new iPhone to make games that much more fun. It runs pretty much the same other than the fact it has a CPU that is twice as fast, which can help the performance of the game.
The day has come. Now lets check for that new iOS ... can see "Requires iOS 4.2 or later". No requirement for iOS 5 (although noticed you edited the later posts - guess you now see the light). But original question still remains. Why if the game took 12 weeks to develop from scratch does it take as long again to re-test it on iPhone? Is it going to take the same again for Android? Or is the delay part of bungies 'great' [cough] publisher/marketing plan?
Posted by: AzNs4LiF3 Now, will it be for Android?
That's what I want to know as well. Although, now that it's for iPhones, maybe I can borrow one to give it a shot.

When I submitted my first post without edits.
First up, for a boy who asks for proof you make a lot of claims to the time of your original post ... what is available to us is "8:31", so year your thought+edit is a total time of 26 minutes (8:05 to 8:31). Plus who takes 12 minutes to write one post, and then another 14 minutes to edit that post (thats MORE time in edit that originally spent).
Posted by: Switchfoot4 ... and all you want is proof ...
LOL ... it was YOU who started accusing me of jumping to conclusions and wanting proof. Proof was provided ... more than once. And yet when the same is asked of you - NOTHING. Will take your admission of error. Bye you have been entertaining.

 • Ok ... we are meant to believe you are retarded, that it takes YOU 26 minutes to type up a reply. lol ... can go with that - either way stupidity explains all. Flattered to see your reading my sig ... efforts feel rewarded. Although worried about your paranoia. "read your wall of words" .. ironic. You take 23 lines of text to reply to an 11 line post. Count them, there right above. So your wall is 209% the size of mine - troll fail. "Forth off, post a link that proves me wrong" ... still awaiting your post supporting your position. Your single tweet says NOTHING about cross platform support. You even acknowledge cross version development ("If you knew anything for iOS development") ... so what does your great link say .... NOTHING. Even challenged YOU (the iOS Developer [cough]) to show one item which would have effected the game which was not known on public forums in July ... just ONE. And yet - NOTHING. NOTHING appears to be your area of expertise. (sorry, your are a failed troll so that doesnt count) [Edited on 11.16.2011 4:03 AM PST]

 •
Posted by: Separikakku This is another example of your priceless logic. The posts are actually datetime stamped ... so here we have the linked post stamped "11.13.2011 8:05 AM PST" and then we have your reply stamped "11.13.2011 8:31 AM PST". Even YOU (the iOS Developer, mmm) could figure out that his post was 26 minutes before yours.
Ahhh ... but you have not proved that it culd not have happened ... may be in some alternative universe ... what about time travel ... perhaps I hacked the site. The conspiracies will flow - lol. But back to the OPS "shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions" ... would he honestly take a single tweet to conclude HBS xcoded the whole CSP, rather than a web post including quotes from the product owner/developer??? He could always attempt to regain some credibility - ok, lets be honest and say get some initial credibility - and prove me wrong. Post a link which prove your right. Post a link proving that CSP was NOT developed using Moai. (but dont give in, your providing entertainment on an otherwise dead forum)

 •
Posted by: Switchfoot4 First off, I'm just going to point out problems in your logic. Basically, you use proof of web pages of what they did do, and assume everything else simply did not happen
LOL ... you are priceless, honestly. So someone provides proof of WHAT HAPPENED ... but because they cannot prove what DIDNT HAPPEN you are upset. Just how does one proves the absence of proof ... If proof is provided then it will exist and again not meet your criteria?!?
Posted by: Switchfoot4 Plus, I quoted you before you edited that link in, and I didn't see it till mentioned it in your post. (You concluded that I deal with my problems by editing them out, just saying)
This is another example of your priceless logic. •
Posted by: Switchfoot4 I don't know why you are even talking about the Moai engine. Just because they used an pre-made engine doesn't mean they don't modify it, they still had to write code to optimize it for iOS and whatever they are developing for (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and their generations). Someone at HBS had to program on a Mac using the iOS SDK. Plus, even if they are developing on a Windows environment (I've yet to see proof that they did), they still developed for the iOS platform either way you look at it.
Talking about moai engine becasue thats what CSP was developed in ... not xcode or any "iOS only" sdk. still had to write code to optimize it ... wrong, refer you to section titled "How does Moai SDK performance differ from native Objective C and C++ games" HBS had to program on a Mac using the iOS SDK ... Start with the section titled "What are the recommended environments for developing with Moai SDK" and then progress further into some of the tuts. HBS's own Weisman even describes that process (but perhaps he lies - lol) even if they are developing on a Windows environment (I've yet to see proof that they did) ... did you even look?? I noticed you removed the link from my original post in your reply ... guess thats how you deal with proof that doesn't back up your opinion. they still developed for the iOS platform ... well Duh. Yes they developed for the iOS platform using an engine designed to run across the apple iSeries range, Android, Windows, mac etc ... no one is disputing this. But because we can see by your own statements that you are not the self claimed "iOS Developer" (or at least not of an employable level) ... and because you can [almost] read here is your second round of proof. Would have hoped you could have found it yourself, but :( Key phrases for you; - 99% of the game was built in Lua script; - To explain the other 1%, see prefers to work in Flash and integrate the Facebook and FMOD sound libraries; - The windows pc Testing on PCs as well as devices (even ANOTHER picture of developer with windows laptop) However if you still believe "HBS had to program on a Mac using the iOS SDK then I would add that it is YOUR turn to provide proof. "More conclusions" - yes, you are a MASSIVE troll. Before you come flaming do at least a little research.

 •
Posted by: GLO Is Back All sound great ... except CSP was developed using Moai, and much of that done on Windows workstation (yes, its a cross platform tool - authoring on Windows). But being the 'iOS developer' you would know this. If you want to "Look it up" you can even find some cool videos showing CSP running on Windows and an iPhone, and dated prior to November. (and yes, the HBS contained your exclusive link on its web site before they the tweet was made). So unless HBS took a fork of Moai, and in that process messed up the cross platform by introducing some iPad only functionality - testing should be down to real estate layout. So back to my point. Took 12 weeks to build the entire game, on an existing cross platform toolset (and developed on a PC environment). And yet we have testing taking another 12 weeks?? Or a simpler reason ... someones idea of a marketing plan.
More conclusions. I showed the twitter message above from HBS themself above, saying they were waiting for the iPhone 5 until they release anything for the iPhone. If you need anymore proof, then I don't know what more you need considering it's a message directly from HBS. It's not my choice what they did. They decided to wait for the announcement of the next iPhone before developing for it. That's what they went with. Proof above. •
Posted by: Switchfoot4 You need to stop reading what is not there.
Posted by: Switchfoot4 I just said they wouldn't want to write a bunch of code for the next iPhone for it to not work on the new iPhone. Then continue to spend more time developing and changing their code for the next iPhone after they released it for iPhone.
What ?!?! So the "New iPhone" , the "next iPhone or just the "iPhone"... lol And given you are sooo wise ... "If you knew anything for iOS development" ... please enlighted us all to the elements of iOS or the iPhone itself that HBS would not have known in July (given that would have been the development kick off given their own 12 week claim)? Licenced developer or not - most of the information was available on public forums. Happy to provide some links if you want to detail some particulars. But do agree with you on the SDK allowing you to "develop different platforms for different iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and different generations of each)" ... however that does not support your first claim "They were waiting for the announcement of the new iPhone, which turned out to be the iPhone 4S, so they wouldn't come out with something, and have it not work for the next platform"?? Money still on bungie pushing them into some phased release, or bungie trying to generate some noise to quieten the chirp of crickets within aerospace. Why has no-one else taken up bungies "publishing" offer? Its an embarassing look, and gets worse every week that goes by

 • From Harebrained twitter:
"Nothing to announce yet here! Still waiting on that iPhone 5 announce too... fingers crossed for October though."
In response to a question for Crimson of the iPhone. They were waiting for the iPhone 5 release.
Posted by: GLO Is Back Plus it would have been stupid to lock it into new model features ... "we have release the re-vamped CSP, but you have to upgrade your phone for it to run" - lol. Dont think any app developer would be that short sighted.
I never said anything about that they were going to develop it only for the next iPhone. Not once did I say that. I just said they wouldn't want to write a bunch of code for the next iPhone for it to not work on the new iPhone. Then continue to spend more time developing and changing their code for the next iPhone after they released it for iPhone. If you knew anything for iOS development, you can develop different platforms for different iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and different generations of each). If there was a new feature for the next iPhone (which nothing really happened), they can incorporate features specifically for the new phone, and not implement for other platforms. That's what I was saying. You need to stop reading what is not there. You are jumping to conclusions by what I am saying.

Plus it would have been stupid to lock it into new model features ... "we have release the re-vamped CSP, but you have to upgrade your phone for it to run" - lol. Dont think any app developer would be that short sighted. Suspect it may be bungie trying to create some more noise around the aerospace name ... trying to get more than the one title on its "publisher" books before the 2 year anniversary. Either that or bungie exerting control over HBS to follow the old ODST/H3 marketing plan - hold back on functionality and release it later to boost product uptake.
