I can't take it anymore, I have to ask this question...
Why is it that you can report yourself?

Same thing here... ;)
Posted by: Achronos Because it amuses me.
Posted by: thenewxegk I can't take it anymore, I have to ask this question... Why is it that you can report yourself?

Because it's like flogging yourself in the middle-ages?

You can. Just because the button doesn't show up doesn't mean it's impossible.
Posted by: HOOBLA 911
Posted by: Achronos The moderators can't see who reported a post. They only see the amount of unique users reporting. However, the system itself does track who reported what and the result of that report - so if you submit enough reports to waste the moderator's time, the system will report you to the moderators for possible abuse of the reporting system.
Posted by: Agent Peeps I think my question would be not why can we report ourselves but to the mods and bungie staff: What is your reaction when you look at the report que and the person reported is the same as the person reported by?

Kewl. Now why can't I report you?
I've been a bad boy.

Some users really report themselves.

I feel like if there is, this is one of those rare occasions to promote the report button with it =P

In case you feel guilty for something, then you can just report yourself.
-
Because you're good guy Greg.

You can't possibly sit here and tell me that you expect to receive a genuine answer to this question. ;-)
Posted by: Top_Gun_2021
Posted by: Delta 15t The things that drive us nuts huh? I'll bet it was left there because what ever code is used just puts it on everyones post, including your own. The report button that is. Of course you can't report a Moderator or Bungie staff, but it's probably a lot of work to take it out of everyones individual posts. I'm sure there are more important things to tend to. Just a guess here. ~Delta
I think the fix was easy, but Achronos thought it was too funny to fix.
Well that also. ~Delta

So, If people report themselves, the mods can see that in their queue, how many times have they actually banned someone for reporting themselves?
-
I report myself all the time :P Thanks Bungie, you made my life so much easier and better!
Posted by: Recon Number 54 For the EXACT same reason I can ban myself. Self-flagellation. It's all the rage in some countries. You should try it sometime.
When I read the title of the thread, you were the first thing that popped into my head: Recon bans himself. Funny blam! right there... OT: why not?
Posted by: evilcam I can't report any of you. *feels left out*
Really you should be able to, sometimes mods just want to report it and have another mod do their job.
