Comp lobbies are the worse it’s ever been. For 6 days I’ve been stuck in Gold 2 facing guys that are twice my kd. This meta is the worst it’s ever been. I’ve been through the redrix meta too. The marlet shoots faster than redrix it seems like. The m-17 fast talker shoots way to fast and has way to much range. This has to stop.
Even with the lobby balancing, I am terrible at comp. But getting placed against 2.5 people is just insane. I know there are some games that should be a challenge. But not every other game.
I know comp should not be enjoyable, but us destiny players do it anyways. I don’t have any intention on quitting, but to try and get better. But I can’t get better in unwinnable situations

2 RepliesSo not trying to be mean or anything, but your stats aren't good - mine aren't anything to hoot at either. When someone lies on the outer edges of the mmr spectrum, the game has to pull players from those extremes to balance things out, whether that's outliers on the upper or lower ends. -------- With that being said, one of the best things players can do at any level is to figure out who is the strongest and weakest player on their team and the enemy team. Then, figure out the balance of these variables that is leading to failure or success for your team. Is the weakest player on the team dying too much and allowing for ramping off those deaths? Or is the strongest player on your team getting kills off on their own, but with no team support, to not die or have follow-up opportunities missed? Assess the same for the enemy team. Is one player getting all the kills and leading the enemy team? Is there a player who your team keeps getting easy picks on? Sometimes many of these variables are taking place at once. Now work towards bending these variables in your team's favor. For your team, either make the strongest teammate stronger by following their lead and buffing, team-firing with them, or healing them. Or make the weakest teammate stay safe by baby sitting them and doing the same. For the enemy team, avoid confronting the strongest player alone. There was a person in my last clan that gets to Ascendant every season and even managed to get high up in Ascendant 0, getting the Umbral Echelon emblem to drop, and they only have a .98 k/d overall. They use healing rift with Lumina, Boots of the Assembler, healing grenade, and a healing auto. ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ Tldr: Try running a support focused build and healing / buffing your strongest teammate. Also, some games are just forced losses from the moment the matcmaking system puts a match together, so don't get too tilted and bring that bad energy into your next game.

3 Repliesppl like you are the reason PVP is constantly dumbed down. its comp. its going to be competitive, yk its literally in the name. get better instead of whining like a bum. if the skill level of ppl in gold are so significantly beyond you, what makes you think you deserve to be able to attain an even higher rank lmao

Not many players are playing comp. There really is no incentive once you get a decent roll on the weapon... So most of the players are good players who enjoy playing the game mode and understand how to play it well.

I'm sorry but what exactly is your expectation? Comp is a rank system - meaning you are climbing up ranks until the point you reach the rank matching more or less your skill level and then you're stuck in it which is exactly what happened to you (although to be very honest judging by your stats you are even in a rank above your skill level).

Edited by Manic: 1/16/2026 3:59:20 AMI believe it's a ladder to climb and you will get hard stuck where your skill level tops out... Back in shadowkeep it took me 6 months to hit legend to unlock not forgotten.

Sounds like a skill. Check out the thumbnail and look at the build so you can be radiant and freeze and be amplified and have weaken and ignitions and severe and every exotic in the game
