I tried again to run Onslaught, and once more it was a total waste of time. Once you reach the Grandmaster difficulty, everything does too much damage on the ADU. Any of the modifiers that add splash/AoE damage will hit the ADU, making it almost impossible to run the activity with random people. Even a skilled group will have trouble dealing with this situation. We simply have no way to shield/protect the ADU from all these effects. Before the changes, I would, depending on the map, even be able to carry new lights or undergeared players there, even on the 50 waves version. Now? Impossible. I can barely reach wave 5 without the ADU being almost destroyed. The point of Onslaught was to be an activity, although challenging, doable enough to gear players up and provide access to very good craftable and enhanceable weapons. Now the activity is pointless. The juice is not worth the squeeze, like 90% of the game after the recent changes. Another activity wasted by the "one size fits all" approach that Bungie pushed on everything without taking the time to tune anything properly. The ADU needs some drastic scaling to deal with the extra punishment from the new modifiers and the power delta, as well as an increased chance for engram drops from elite and mini-bosses. I'm not even talking about +1 drops, just regular drops to help alleviate the current unstable core economy, which is terrible and needs to be rethought or completely removed from the game.
