It's a skinner box of bugs & tedium. They create content to run thousands of times, content they can reuse,it's all very very basic design with mechanics other games had decades ago. The incentives are almost non existent, a new perk on an old gun, a new gun that looks exactly like 7 other guns in the game. The abilities they've added, fragments etc, whilst cool in theory are destroying connections & performance by overloading the data servers. They've no QA staff & we've never had as many bugs & broken things, alongside more & more black screens & things like tower travel taking 5 mins. Then there's this weird bullet sponge mentality & throw hundreds of respawning adds into the mix.
On the surface it's a very pretty, nice feeling game, but it's as shallow as puddle & almost all of the systems are poor, broken, badly designed or very very basic. The most challenging in destiny is finding competent people to play with, do that & everything is too easy, fail to do that & everything is too mundane.
I still play, I'm retired & fill time but it's not a good game, it's just a very simple timesink built to feed addiction

You make it seem like you can't play the game at all...and many things like server issues and how much time is spent traveling to the tower are constant and never ending. That's just not true. Things happen in Live Service games that are difficult to fix. They do a pretty good job at minimizing the time it takes to fix, and honestly, it never affects my enjoyment. People behaving poorly affects my enjoyment, as does matching up against cheaters. Those are things Bungie can't control as easily, so I don't put that on them. They do what they can to foster a good gaming space that is inclusive of all walks of life. You also mention how the depth of the game is akin to a puddle. That's laughable, and just a bad take. The game has more game modes than any game out there. The way you play PvP differs from Gambit, which differs from a Strike, which differs from Dungeons, which differs from Raids. You can explore, solve puzzles, read lore, or get lost in Dresstiny. I am curious, what game out there has more depth and diversity in gameplay and nuance than Destiny?? Different weapons, classes, subclasses, armor, modes, sparrows & skimmers, storylines, events, competitions and Real Life interactivity. You failing to see the forest for the trees is the problem here.

Just to add, regarding the depth of a puddle, you kind of agreed with me. You said there's lots of modes, you're correct, there's probably around 250 nodes & modes for days, you can click right now in-game, sounds great right, but most of it is pointless. When I say shallow I'm talking deeper, like economy, like incentive, like replayability, like levelling. Economy is -blam!-, most veterans are capped on all materials & most are worthless yet materials are a key incentive to run content, some materials have no use. Incentive seems to be exotics with non existent drop rates or old guns with a new perk, or high stat armour that drops at 58 & everyone already has good sets anyway & the ones who don't, don't care. Levelling is totally pointless & don't badly, duplication makes players angry, forcing people into content they don't like & reward them with something worthless, over & over, there's too few slots to make duplication not a mechanic but then it becomes obvious that it's weighted to keep you playing, but then why level anyway because all the events are capped at certain power, it makes no sense. We get far too much loot, I spend most of my time deleting things & that again feels worthless because you get nothing if your glimmers capped & it usually is. Legendary shards were removed, well, hidden, they're still there you just can't see them, at least you got something for deleting useless rubbish. Loot should be rare, lower the 2000 perk combinations & make drops matter. Put the power up 1000 every year or even 250 every season but make everything level you up, let people over level to make content easier for putting in the time to do so. Add super rare emblems to playlists, incentivize people to play outside of tedious weekly copy & paste challenges like scout kills in strikes & capping zones in control, it feels like they don't care anymore & neither would you if indeed you think the game ends in 2 years. Again sorry for long post 👍
I am curious, what game out there has more depth and diversity in gameplay and nuance than Destiny??
None, but that doesn't make this a great game. It's like saying drinking diet coke is great because it has half the sugar of full coke, whilst absolutely true, coke is still a toxic product they destroys your organs, being better than something else doesn't make it good. It's why I still play, but I'm very critical & think gaming in general needs regulating, companies get away with absolute murder. I enjoy the grind this game provides but it could & should be so much better, & saying bugs are fixed quickly is just wrong. You know iron lord was broken for 3 years right? You know all the events are bugged & have been for 4-5 years? Take guardian games, the triumph for doing activities like wellspring, well 3/4 of the options don't count, dares, terminal overload, & 1 I forget, simply dont work. There were people last season & this who's seasonal quests softlocked & they couldn't play what they paid for, still not fixed 6-9 months later. Long tower loading has always been a thing, it's related to cross play desync, not sure what platform you're on but the issue is between PSN & Xbox & Xbox outside of the USA is like 10% population Vs 90% psn & it affects the whole game, so every instance is heavy PSN numbers & it causes delays & desync. Go play a private PvP match solo, you get a 3 nin black screen between landing & the game starting, known issue for over a year. I could go on forever lol. I'm glad you're enjoying the game, truly, & I am to a certain extent & yes I'm probably burned out after near 11 years but I see issues almost every day & I just expect better. I'm slightly scued by reading leaks & private discords so I likely know more than most about what's going on & why & I think we as players have been treated pretty shoddily & taken for granted, & I also don't believe this game runs past 2027, but let's see.
