I don't think that its a bragging right, other than we can nail a land invasion better, but only in the short term.
(Marines are an invasion force, Army is an occupying force, similar in training but different in application, also Army has troops to spare.)
You get yelled at more, have stupider rules, you get crappy old guns some of which have questionable functionality, do more with less isn't a blessing its a curse, smallest budget, barracks are terrible for Marines and Army though so thats something they have in common.
The advantages of the Marines are a cool flag and theme song, and the best Dress Blues our military has, and of course the title of being a Marine.
Disadvantages are you get treated worse, have worse living conditions, have to get very dirty and grimy, and still get paid the same rate as someone in another branch of the same rank, (other branches are also more prone to extra pay for certain things).
PS: The red crayons are the bestest and tastiest...

Yep, they're even better than the DBs I paid for in the Army. Their mess dress getup is better too, though I only saw those a handful of times and only a couple of those were on enlisted.
The new P&G uniforms though. Wish we'd have had those when I was in, so sharp! 👌
My mom is an ex marine, so I know how much it sucks. That said, she kinda excelled in pretty much everything so I’m not sure if I really got the full knowledge of how bad it was.
