You literally just have to do the mission one time per character and then you can grind solo. It's such a non-issue.
If people spent as much time trying to do the mission as they did whining about it not being soloable, they'd have it already.

If Bungie spent as much time making good content as they do gatekeeping for streamers and nerds they would still have a studio. Stop whining, gatekeeper.

Noone is gatekeeping. The mission is called "dual" destiny for a reason. Requires two people. Do it one time than farm the pale heart. Spend less time here crying and actually play the game.

Can you LFG for it (without having to get creative with your posts and searches)? I've not looked yet, but I'd imagine that's a pre-requisite for a lot of solo players

Cool - do you have to alter the matchmaking parameters to only include two players when creating the post? LFG is so badly documented a lot of players don't even know that's 'a thing'

Huh? It’s pretty user friendly. Pick a category, write a little summary/title and pick how many people you are trying to invite (1-5) and then press create.
