Safari prevents PlayStation login on Companion App

For about the past day now, when I try to log into the app on my iPhone, I get an error: “A connection to server could not be established (18.9cf36e68.1654095263.cfe2e643)”. I first cleared the app cache and content database, then deleted the app and reinstalled it from the Apple Store. Still ran into the same error. I then not only did the above steps but also cleared the Safari cache. Still the same error. I even enabled cookies in Safari and disabled 2-step auth on my PS profile, but that didn't work either. A fourth way I tried to work around this is after pressing on "Sign in with Bungie.net" at the top of the app, instead of pressing on the PS icon, I copied the "https://www.bungie.net/en/User/SignIn/Psnid?....etc" redirect and pasted it into Chrome. I was able to sign into my profile and was presented with the "You are signed in as: etc" page with the "Approve" or "Deny" buttons. I hit "Approve" and am asked if I want to open "com.bungieinc.bunie://oauth-redirect/bungienet?code=...etc" in the external app. I hit "Ok" and the Companion app opens. I'm presented with a screen asking me again to open the link. I hit the "Yup, let's go!" option but this same screen keeps popping back up no matter how many times I approve. If I press on an area outside the message, it disappears and the app indefinitely loads a blank page titled "oauth-redirect". But it doesn't seem to have me signed in. I'm guessing the app is not approving the oauth redirect from Chrome. I tested these same steps in Firefox and Safari on my iPhone. Firefox produces the same situation as above, but Safari throws the above server connection error. This leads me to conclude Safari is the root cause of the issue. I'm not sure what else to do since the app only inherently uses Safari for authentication (as evident in the cache filling up every time I try to sign in directly through the app even though I have Chrome as the default browser) and using an external browser for the oauth link doesn't work. Any further advice or help would be appreciated.
