The girl walks to him. “The congregation is ready.” She says reverently, before bowing and backing away. He smiles, for he knows his time has come. “Thank you, Elena. Your service is done. You may go sit with your family now.” After a moments pause, he calls out. “Jackson? Can you come here, please?” A young man, about twenty, comes around the corner of the wings. “Yes, my Prophet?” He says uneasily. “Jackson, my son, I have something I must tell you.” He smiles grimly. “Y-yes, Prophet?” “I’m afraid I know what you’ve been doing. I know the sins you’ve committed.” The young man’s eyes widened in realization. “I-It ain’t true! I never did it! She got attacked by a bear! I’m telling you!” He frantically yells. “Shh, my son. I don’t blame you. I knew the things she did to you. I decided you were right in what you did. That’s why I didn’t send Gabe’s boys for you. But you what this means, don’t you?” “No…no, please! Don’t…” His smile widens. “Don’t worry, son. I’m not going to kill you. You can’t come with us though.” “No…” “Goodbye, Jackson. I’ll come back for you eventually.” He walks away onto the stage.
He faces the mass of people sat on simple wooden benches. “My brothers, my sisters, my sons and daughters, the day we have been waiting for these 16 long years, is finally here!” The crowd erupts into cheering. One morning, I had a peculiar dream. In it, a man, a man the size of a skyscraper, spoke to me. His face was wreathed in mist and darkness, that is why I have called him the dark lord. He told me I would be his Prophet, his messenger. He told me to instruct the populace on how he would save us. But the ignorant people of America, nay, of the world, didn’t listen. But you, you alumni, you stayed with me, and now you and your children will be rewarded. Raise your chalices, and drink from the Lord, and become one with him!”

CULT FOUND DEAD FROM INGESTING POISONED GRAPE JUICE; LEADER AND BOY ONLY ONE LEFT
Two days ago, the outcomes of a sinister ritual was found in Verdanian County. The Lord’s Children, a well known cult in the Verdanian area, were found dead this morning. Over 200 men, women, and children were found poisoned by their leader, Jeb Masra, otherwise known as the Prophet. When found by local authorities, Jeb simply said, “They have been saved.” He was immediately arrested, and will most likely face life without parole. State troopers later found Jackson Elwell sitting on a boulder overlooking the camp. He then said, “I didn’t get to go with them.” He then immediately confessed to the murder of Abagail Williams, a 16 year old girl who had been found and looked to have mauled by a bear. If more information comes of this tragedy, the Verdanian Chronicles will cover it.
