Bungie: creates new system in which we can craft new weapons with new, additional abilities and heightened stats.
Previous weapons: are still very much usable, just don’t get new crafting abilities as they are not crafted
Some of y’all: SUNSETTING 🚨🚨🚨❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ THEY’RE DOING IT AGAIN❗️❗️❗️ WILL THEY NEVER LEARN⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️ HELLOOOOOOOOOO❓❓❓
Huh? 🤨

That’s not sunsetting
-
are the new intrinsic traits gonna be that much better now the one for that buffs solo play i can see for lost sectors yes but the rest i dont think gonna break the game where the old guns cant compete.
-
Not the same thing, as this time you can still use your fav old guns in all activities. Which was not the case with previous sunsetting.
-
2 Replies1000000 preorder and more to come they are learning and the game is involving more than ever. You need new stuff and that a good thing. You play destiny long enough to know this sunsetting thing happen all the time, guest what this system is working. So stop complaining they won’t change the game for hanfull of the community.
-
7 Repliesproof you can’t please everyone Play the game OR leave is that simple I like D2 with warts and all. Some things are broken but whatever. We all love that secret D2 sauce Why there is no d2 killer yet? Peace
-
1 ReplyI like it this way.. fresh guns and we can senset (stop using) the older ones within our own time frames. I think it works perfectly.
I remember static rolls - that was a duck in a toilet. Let's move on
-
I find this the natural way of Sun setting an item without ripping it out of the hands of a player. Sun setting made it so all of the weapons that you previously worked for are now completely worthless except for in low-level activities. This way at least if you still like something you can still use it in that high-level activity it may not be as good but it's still usable. So whoever says this is sun setting they obviously weren't around for actual sun setting. LONG LIVE MY DISMANTLED GOD ROLLS AND PINNACLES.
-
People having different opinions, what witchcraft is this??
-
? Who said this? The thing that’s soft “sun setting” guns is the extra intrinsic perk. Obviously previously farmed rolls would be just fine even if new ones are craft-able. That wasn’t why people are upset, you’re misrepresenting the point. The extra source related perk on new guns will be like Forsaken adding an extra perk roll & random rolls, and adept guns. It outdates your older guns somewhat, without fully sun setting them

2 RepliesEdited by gabezilla101: 2/7/2022 6:54:40 PMI was outspoken about how sunsetting was a bad idea. This is different in every way. The game is evolving which includes more powerful gear. I can still use my old gear but will farm the new weapons and materials to craft what I can. I think is this best thing that’s happened to the game since armor 2.0.

Tbh knowing bungie, the amount of time and effort to fully craft a weapon won't be as efficient as using the God roll you have now. While there will be some who get it done quickly and are able to fully craft a weapon, majority will give up and continue to use their existing God rolls. I dint see it as sunsetting, more of another way to get your God roll. More or less efficient, we won't know till we get wq. just my 2 cents
-
All the new weapons will just potentially be better - what is possibly wrong with that!? And we can keep whatever we want on top of that
-
yeah this community is too funny
-
I mainly worry that it will be just another massive grind fest for not much gain.

Edited by Knightlight3449: 2/5/2022 9:08:52 AMMy main issue is that the orgin perks won't apply ro the gun we already have. Like it's a suros handcannon, where's the origin perk? Would this mean future drops of the same weapon will have the perk? But only because of the sole reason for it dropping post witch queen. Just doesn't make sense to me. This is like when we can't use the nightwatch scout from season of the drifter do to sunsetting, only to have it reissued to us with the same perks and the only difference being the little symbol above it. I really don't care for God rolls. I like good rolls but the masterwork type really doesn't matter to me if everything else looks good. Edit: when it comes to weapon crafting. You'll see little improvement to weapon diversity. People are just going to sheep to whatever the top pvp or pve content creators reccomend. Same thing happened in d1 when it came to reforging weapons. People just kept reforging felwinters lie until they got the pvp shot package roll.

I can't lie to you. I almost sh*t a brick but after reading your post again like a normal person I'm pretty much doing fine now lol. I honestly am here for the wild ride i love this game and my hours of playtime shows but i cannot explain how many times i mentioned sunsetting to tons of players and had them absolutely fear it. It's like you are losing that honest connection with that weapon you spend your time with on a daily and genuinely can't let go until you are forced to by sunsetting. I was practically like that with not forgotten it was my favorite hand cannon to carry around anywhere. This game has a lot of memories to anyone toxic or not we want this game to thrive lol
-
People are salty about sunsetting because of how it was handled. So much was made obsolete, 10 seasons worth of weapons gone and only 7-10 new weapons introduced each season. And they immediately started reissuing stuff they just sunsetted. Like WTF was the point of sunsetting and giving it right back? No more vanguard specific drops. No more crucible specific drops. No more Gambit specific drops. You get the same weapons from every vendor, its been that way for 5 seasons ffs!

TheShadowBungie is no more... - old
Learn? This isn't about learning anything, it's about doing what they want with no regard. Bungie doesn't offer anything without taking something away or manipulating something else. I can only imagine how this new system will work knowing how awesome the transmog system turned out. -
Well it’s the issue of the power climb. If you look back at sun-setted weapons that you have now, they are stuck at a power level for that season. So now, when you increase the power level again, weapons you have now that are sun-setted won’t be able to be increased by infusion. And they give back some of those weapons into the loot pool. This means you do actually have to grind them out again. You can’t simply just use all the now “older” weapons because of the light increase. People are mad about this point. Because we have to grind for basically the same weapon all over again; since we now can’t infuse the one we have to a higher light. You can see this in your current inventory with any grayed out weapon. Ones from last dlc are stuck at 1100. So no, I can’t go around using my some of my favorite weapons still.
-
Well, currently I only use one scout for PVP and it’s a Guiding Sight with rapid hit/Vorpal. If I could somehow craft a better scout rifle that would only be a good thing.
-
It is and it isn’t. It’s giving reason to chase new gear while allowing old gear to co-exist. It’s definitely not as bad as many are making it out to be.

I’m still hung up on no ritual weapons coming back to competitive even though everyone has a chance at get those weapons. Good players are punished because bad players can’t obtain or choose not to get the weapon. If I decide not to raid I don’t get vex mythoclast no point in complaining. If it needs to be toned down fine it removing them completely come on.
