Why are so many players against fusion rifles being decent???
What is the reason why you hate them so much??
Is it because they prevent you from straight lining for a ez kill or poor decisions??
Do players know you can play with a shotgun or fusion both defensively and offensively??
Are players really about that unbalanced and boring HC and SG life???
There is literally a charge indicator when using a fusion rifle which basically gives you some info alongside your radar on where the opponent is.
I don’t know how many times me charging the fusion rifle has worked against me versus for me.
Sounds like some “Get Good” nonsense to me.

23 RepliesEdited by kellygreen45: 2/4/2022 5:40:58 PMSimple. Fusion rifles are designed to be a OHK weapon at mid-range. It is a high-risk/high-reward weapon that relies on getting that OHK in order to be effective. As well as being able track/predict your opponent's movements, and how to manage the charge-up time. If you miss, odds are you'll die before you get off a second shot. The problem is that makes them a direct counter to two of the most favored play styles by those shooter bros who fancy themselves as "high skill" players. 1. Hand cannons 2. Shotgun rushers. Many hand cannon users make poor use of cover, and rely upon twitch speed, making people miss with strafing and running away from losing fights in order to be successful. A good fusion rifle player can reach out and shut that down. But instead of taking the lesson that they need to make better use of cover, these players whine that FRs are OP and are "no skill" weapons. Also fusion rifles have the power to reach out and kill shotgun apes as they charge at you across open ground. Believing that you're stuck with trying to take them out with a primary. But instead of taking the lesson that they need to make better use of cover, and learn how to close the gap without just running at you and face-tanking.....they complain that FRs are OP. So the reality is that this season is the outlier. For most of Destiny's life, Bungie has caved to these players, and so FRs wind up spending most of their time broken. Because Bungie nerfs them in ways that make them inconsistent....and an inconsistent FR is a high-risk/no-reward weapon. So no one uses them.

1 ReplyThey are direct counters to shotgun rushers. It’s the same reason people think Jötunn is OP considering the only time you can get kills with it is when people run in a straight line at you.

Because fusion rifles are abused in pvp people get annoyed with getting vaporized when they go around corners Shotguns are the second abused weapon Both are coward weapons for guardians that don’t want to have a fair fight -
Edited by IFxmto: 2/6/2022 5:12:09 AMBecause it’s the only special weapon that allows you to use it like a primary weapon. You can shut down shotgun apes, and laning Larrys, but it’s incredibly annoying to play a game where a person ONLY uses their fusion. Honestly, if special ammo got kicked in the crotch, then Fusions wouldn’t be as bad
-
2 RepliesThere is very simple reason why people find it annoying to play against fusion rifles. They do not have a niche like other special weapons. Instead, they operate in primary weapon range while being very easy to use. This means that people very frequently find themselves taking what they would expect to be a primary fight, at a range of say 15-25m which is totally reasonable, and have someone with a fusion rifle kill them faster. That is not fun to play against. There is no counter play there, like there is with snipers and shotguns. You just lose to a special weapon in an engagement suited for a primary weapon. The solution? Take pvp out of the game
-
Because they're the cheese of the bungle seas, and all the worst players crutch them non stop.
-
They counter shotguns and the vast majority of this community is apes
-
5 RepliesBecause fusion rifles completely trample over primaries within 25m or so They are basically impossible to flinch and half the time will kill you through a wall as long as the first bolt landed on you while you were exposed They have almost no aim requirement to use and they are the only special weapon that you can basically main all game long Oh and because the counter strategy to them literally involves baiting out ammo like they are a power weapon

pre nerf wavesplitter was great counter to luna’s howl

3 RepliesEdited by A_mo528: 2/6/2022 1:57:59 AMWow, this thread is like I'm reading an alternate universe. Those things reduce the possibilities of what can happen to manageable bite sized pieces of cheese.
-
1 ReplyIt’s because special ammo economy is still broken in Crucible. You can play a match with nothing but your special weapon. They should completely remove special ammo bricks. I know, it’s a hot take.
-
5 RepliesOHK weapons are annoying that's why. I hate all special weapons. I use double primaries to my own detriment. But my preferred special recently has been fusion Rifles. They are easy to use.
-
Nothing more satisfying then my Zealot disintegrating shotgun rushers 🤣
-
2 RepliesEdited by WoLFMaN_V2: 2/4/2022 4:27:19 PMSlug shotgun beats fusions. Have to hit heads tho. So fusions are just the easiest way to get OHK’s. And what ever gets the easiest OHK in this game is going to be hated on.
-
5 RepliesBecause people say they're shotgun counters but when they're hitting 20m to 40m (Xur's Main Ingredient) they're not countering just shotguns, but also hand cannons, pulses, SMGs, autos, etc............................................................
-
The way I see it it’s because they counter shotguns. Since the majority or players are shotgun rushers of course the majority are against them, It’s as simple as that. If fusions were a cheesy weapon then everyone would use them but right now their use rate is lower then both shotguns and fusions.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Anorexic Smough: 2/4/2022 12:33:51 AMBecause they are an easy way to win any and every gunfight, but unlike shotguns they do it outside of close range, and unlike snipers they don’t need a precision shot. I’ve been crutching hard on my fusion, as there’s no real reason to use my primary since I got it.
-
Charging it up. Literally the only reason I hate them
-
Cause SG apes mad they can’t run in straight line and get kill
-
Because they are a hard counter to hc/shotgun users.

6 RepliesFusion Rifles are a few different things. They're an aiming skill check for fast ttk weapons. They're a positioning skill check for most others. They're a counter to apes. They're a middle ground between shotguns and snipers (1hkos from further than shotguns, not as far as snipers). So they're hated by: People who can't aim with fast ttk weapons (especially those who think they can). People with bad positioning (especially those who think they have good positioning). Apes. People who think they're just shotguns with charge time (they don't expect them to have as much range as they do). They're disliked by: People who can aim, but not consistently, with fast ttk weapons. People with decent positioning that get tripped up sometimes. They're just another weapon to: People who can aim consistently well with fast ttk weapons. That's why they're so hated, the majority fall into the first two categories (hate and dislike) and the minority that just see them as "any other weapon" are few and far between. There's nothing mechanically overpowered about them, people just struggle to admit when they've screwed up. I should know, it took me a good 8 months to acknowledge that I was the issue and needed to improve. And I see the same habits and signs from half the people on this forum.

1 ReplyI personally find Fusion Rifles hard to play and succeed with. Not sure if that’s controversial or not. Most things in Destiny if you use them enough you’ll get good with it. Fusions are no different. If you nail their playstyle, like with anything, you can murk.
-
2 RepliesBecause they counter forward holding shotguns apes, that’s why they’re hated. Everyone else who doesn’t ape loves them lol.
-
2 RepliesI think.its because people view them as pleb weapons... which rightfully so but if its what you enjoy have at it. But they are the easiest soecial weapon to get kills with.. have 3x+ the range of a shotty for 1hks.. the charge time is negligible because you can pre charge. If they made it to where when you pulled the trigger it would both charge and fire so you couldn't pre charge then I think people wouldn't be so harsh toward fusion rifles.but bungie wouldn't ever do that
-
because of pvp

The simple answer is they’re getting killed by fusion rifles. More specifically they’re getting killed by Main Ingredient. There’s a reason nobody’s screaming about nerfing trace rifles, or 450 auto rifles, or 360 auto rifles, or 720 auto rifles lol and so on. Hardly anybody is getting kills with these, so barely anyone is dying to them.
