PVP is in such a poor poor state it's infuriating. The fact that Bungie just turned lower skilled players into cannon fodder and that's just how it's going to remain sucks. I love PVP or at least I used to but it's so unplayable.
now every single lobby I fly into there is at least one person that's popping off for 35 kills. while I guarantee that guy is having a fantastic time doing that it's not fun for the guys that are just cannon fodder for him.
skill-based matchmaking needs to come back into destiny desperately
please don't pop in here with a "I'm an average player and it seems fine to me I have a 3.0 KD". -blam!- off with that I don't want to hear it. This is simply just in the hopes that maybe somebody from Bungie will see it and bring back the system that actually makes it fun for everybody instead of just keeping it fun for the few. as a secondary note to that I already know your main complaint is "but I shouldn't have to sweat out every single game". well you're running the sweatiest loadouts anyway maybe you should be playing people of your skill level instead of just running through people

Thats great, but even as a lowly no skill noob i learned better by versing people who were better than me. If you are getting crushed and not improving then you have the wrong mindset and need to figure out how to improve.

4 Repliesthere should be no wins or losses. Bungie should stop keeping score. We should all get participation trophies

I’m bad but no…

I support SBMM, just not for quickplay. It should be the one PvP mode in the game where anyone can play anyone. Not every mode should be a sweatfest.
-
Maybe not bot walking at everyone and spamming melees? Have you tried shooting your fun?? It has unlimited ammo.
-
4 RepliesI've quit playing pvp. It was so bad, I sometimes didn't get credit for the match towards the weekly challenge because I did so poorly. The game thought I wasn't playing.

The correct answer is "Implement Regional Dedicated Host Servers". Their is no point in talking about "Skill" when Bungle's connection infrastructure is an unstable peer to peer mess, where you empy guns into people, they turn around, one shot you and then die 20 seconds later. Once you have working Host servers, you can largely eliminate the connection nonsense (including DOS and other IP BS) that has plagued this game since D1 launched. When we have a level playing field, then we can talk about "Skill".

Another sbmm post at 0 upvotes haha. It's amazing you think bungie will address matchmaking when it's working perfectly and each and every one of the tiny minority of sbmm posters here see thier posts downvoted into oblivion, tike tk wake up, you aren't going to have the game hold your hand and put you in a Kiddie pool because you're inept. Either enjoy the games with everyone or if losing is so upsetting to you put the time and effort in to improve like the good players your crying over did.

We should be fighting against Guardians and not Dregs. #SBMM

3 RepliesI honestly agree. I’m a decent high skilled player and honestly I would not mind it comming back, I am tired of trying to hard to just get a win. Honestly getting 35 kills and losing is a horrible experience. Why do I have to deal with blue berry that flip spawns every 30 seconds or when there not slaying also not capping zones. Or being afk in there menu. Or rocking a thier 5 base super with 2 intelect. I rather face harder opponent with equal change to win. Then look at a game history having 50% to win but divided like me/ let’s say a 8 out of 10 and 4, out of 10 and 1, 1 out of 10 facing 6, 5 out of 10. Nah thx I’ll rather Take 6, 6 out of 10 facing 6 other at the same skill.

Bungie changed pvp to cbmm for the sweats/YouTubers which is a small percentage of the player base and pushed away the majority. It’s Bungie logic to listen to the loudest cryers.
-
I appreciate your point but no thanks

2 RepliesBro, by definition sbmm only the bottom 30% players will have fun With cbmm, top 50% have fun and the connections are better. Have you played pvp recently? We are barely staying online with cbmm, you think the game can handle sbmm?

1.16kd overall here, I completely agree.

2 RepliesThe funny thing is that there are a lot of average players with 3.0 k/ds. Also, almost everyone gets to score 35. Control is almost totally about what the game is doing and not the players. Its like that for lower skilled players. And its like that because a lot of people simply will not settle for someone scoring 35 in the same lobby where they "only" score 10 with the game working in a way that would normally be called competitive. Look up the people scoring 35 in 6v6 and you will see that its every single k/d level of player that gets to do that. Yes some people get to score that high more often but that's also not really because of anything that would normally be called competitive.

30 RepliesWe should also get easy mode for gms based on how many gms you’ve done 🤦♂️ come on dude. The game shouldn’t punish a player for getting better at the game. Also the main complaint about sbmm isn’t about having to play against better players all the time. It’s about the insane lag that comes with sbmm in the middle to top end of the skill bracket and the long q times. Good players should not get punished for getting better at the game by getting lobbies with more lag and longer q times. The bungie devs took a long look at this when sbmm was in the game and decided it was better off for the games to feel better and not be subject to as much lag. Hence the connection based matchmaking system was implemented. It gives you fast q times along with the best quality of game. They didn’t want all the streamers and you tubers to be showcasing an absolute lag fest ever game ether. (Sbmm = bad for business) (cbmm = good for business)
