Hello! If you have read this title and felt like it applies to you, you likely also play on Xbox. I am making this post as a long time Bungie supporter. I have been playing their games since I first tried Halo: Combat Evolved as a kid. I am also making this post in deep sorrow and after much hesitation and forethought.
But what I am about to say is something I feel must be said. Others have likely brought it up, but I don't read forums or keep up with much news on games. Outside of what new things are coming to the games I play. The game I would like to post about today is Destiny 2. As you could probably guess.
I have been playing Destiny since launch with a few friends. I, as well as many others, longingly anticipated and hoped for cross platform. That is until it happened and has, thus far, ruined our PVP experience. If you play Xbox, I likely need not say more about the subject. But yes, there's a huge problem with PVP specifically when in cross play against Playstation players. (Disclaimer, this has nothing at all to do with the fact that Sony has bought out Bungie.)
As an Xbox player I, as well as my playgroup, have noticed a consistent pattern of poor connection issues against players that are specifically on Playstations. For example, I will lay into an opponent with my entire magazine. Not only will he survive around 30+ bullets, but they manage to somehow kill me and "rubber band" around before dying or taking any damage at all. Which, as you could imagine results in a huge advantage for a PS player.
I am only posting this now because I have been patient and have been waiting for the issue to be resolved, believing my friends and I aren't the only Xbox players with this issue. However, This issue is ongoing and continues to get worse by the day. I continually experience this whenever I try to play crucible with my friends. At this point it feels like I am being punished for trying to play Destiny online. At this point, whenever somebody on the other team in crucible is having terrible connection issues and it benefits them, we all assume that they are PS players before even checking. When we notice the connectivity issues, they are ALWAYS on Playstation.
Now that I have said what my problem is, before all you conspiracy theorist keyboard warriors start exploding comments on this, I have something else to say about it before I go any further. We have been experiencing these issues since the launch of cross platform play. So I have 0 reason to believe or suspect that this is due to some kind of favoritism of Playstation players over Xbox players. That being said, I can see how things may look and I urge everyone to use their brain before sending tons of nasty hate mail about favoritism. There's no reason Bungie would want to lose the patronage of their Xbox fans.
Now, as you could imagine, the fact that there is a widespread and noticeable difference of ping between PS and Xbox is extremely irritating. And I would like to know if it is both ways, or if my fellow Xbox players and I are the only ones being stiffed in this regard. This is literally ruining our Destiny experience. Every time we want to play with 6 of us together, we jump into crucible, get paired against PS players on a consistent basis, and watch the opposing team survive an impossible amount of damage as they lag across the floor right by us. It just isn't fair by any means. (Even in TRIALS OF OSIRIS)
I would like to ask if anybody knows the reason, has footage of this, or if you also experience this while playing Playstation. I will also take a second to mention that the amount of people who cheat while using a computer is disgusting. Bungie is clearly taking measures to prevent that, but it literally makes it so we can't include our friends on computer when we play multiplayer as well.

I'm on Xbox and only games against other Xbox players feel like a fair fight. Not a one off either order all the tube after hundreds of PvP matches.
