Lucky Pants has a pretty annoying issue that I assume stems from how weapon swap works on sticks. If I have a kinetic HC, and want to swap from my energy to my heavy, I hold the weapon swap button, and it cycles through my kinetic briefly before readying my heavy (The same issue occurs when using an energy HC and trying to swap from kinetic to heavy). This activates and immediately deactivates the damage buff on Lucky Pants, giving me the Out of Luck cooldown timer. This is a really annoying kink in how the exotic functions on controller. If I were to suggest a way to remedy this, it would be that Lucky Pants activates only once you fire a shot with a compatible HC (Kinetic or matching element). This would massively improve the usability of the exotic such that you could activate the buff on demand more easily, and completely remove the issue with its interaction with controller weapon swap.

1 ReplyIt's not just the boots. Certain weapons are causing the double cycling and it is pretty annoying. For me, the Hailing Confusion weapon does this when I want to swap to heavy.

Who puts pants on a controller?

9 RepliesCustom button mapping is your friend here! Personally I like to use up some of the emote buttons for thing like this (do you really need 4 buttons for emotes but just one for swapping between all 3 weapons?) I use the down button on d-pad as an alternate way of swapping to my heavy, and the left d pad as an alt for swapping to energy weapon. It makes quickly swapping to a heavy noticeably smoother, and is particularly useful with the new eager edge swords. I bet it would work for lucky pants too, as well as any other weapon or armor perk that activates on a weapon swap/draw.

Thank you. This perfectly surmises my destiny experience. I experience this in game and then abandon broken exotic and reflect on how this is a game of build-crafting.

It seems to be a glitch that quickdraw causes or guns with a stupidly high handling. Wish bungie would take note of this and add it to the bug list!

Yeah. I had a play with this a few weeks back just to tryout the updated version. I couldn't get used to it
