You’re all talking about Bungie and Sony, when it was activision that secured the exclusivity.
Activision is now an entity of Microsoft, if we see exclusives, it’ll be for Xbox and pc, not PlayStation.

You realize Sony is buying bungie right lol....
-
Yeah, and if Sony had a stake in Bungie, they wouldn’t want to reduce the product market down to 33%, that would be an attack on their own bottom line. That’s why activision was fine forcing Bungie to make exclusive content, as activision didn’t have a stake in Bungie and was able to profit off of the exclusivity deal. Sony would only be hurting themselves. It really isn’t that complicated at all.
-
Not putting exclusive to Sony after investing would be absurd, its a weapon her or there after witch queen, its no more or less and absolutely nothing to freak about.
-
The hell did you just say? I cannot decipher meaning from that jumble of words at all.
-
There will be exclusives... I'll break it down smaller bungie put gun on ps only....maybe now you can understand.
-
That’s a statement, not an argument. Do you have anything at all to back that up?
-
They stated no exclusivity until 2024, then as we all know ps has had exclusives in the past. It makes 0 sense from a business standpoint to a. Aquire a company, then b. Get nothing from it. Its a no brainer.

Edited by Rogue: 2/1/2022 1:24:33 AMOnce you acquire a company, their profit is your profit. Exclusivity is useful for PUBLISHERS because it lets them get a very large upfront payment. It’s not at all good for the developers or anyone with a stake in the developers, because exclusivity always results in less sales, not more. Sony WANTS Bungie to sell content to Xbox and PC players, as that will result in profit for Sony. Making your own game exclusive is bankrupt of all sense, as all you are doing is forgoing 66% of your potential profit.
-
Yes you allow the game for Xbox and pc, then make exclusives for ps5, then people who are desperate for everything buy a ps5= more profit.....
-
It’s not been proven that exclusives make people buy new consoles, and even then buying consoles isn’t profitable. Sony and Microsoft both lose money on their gaming consoles, but make money on their subscription services. Sony has been selling consoles at a loss since the PS2, so no. You’re just uninformed.
-
What you're saying is untrue, and you are misinformed let's toss some facts into this. So yes exclusivity would cause sales just like console wars in the past. And its all profit for Sony.....
-
Why would you chose to sell a product to 33% of the market instead of 100%? Give me a single reason.
-
Oh my God, its not getting taken away, you've fabricated this part of the argument. It will still be playable but just as when the game released it will get ps exclusives, or timegated ps items. Its common sense at this point.....
-
Oh, so the entire problem is completely fabricated and there’s actually nothing to complain about at all?
-
They are saying that the max amount of what Sony would make exclusive would be very minimal. So they wouldn't lose any people from PC or Xbox based on one exotic. That being said, I agree with your point. I could easily see Microsoft trying to strike a deal with Bungie to make D2 have some bonuses for Xbox. I doubt either will happen but it is possible. Just so Microsoft can take another jab at Sony.
-
The plan for the next 5 years is for Xbox and pc to “close the loop”and release a bunch of games exclusive to Xbox and pc. This wouldn’t a problem, except that Microsoft have REALLY stepped up their in house studio game. In house studios WAS Sony’s thing, they had hundreds. Microsoft now has thousands. Going forward, things look really bad for the PlayStation.
