so bungie being acquired by playstation happened and honestly im glad but mostly worried as an xbox player. to clarify i dont want this to be about console wars this is about destiny and bungie not whos console is better
pros
. we can expect to see hopefully forsaken or taken king level content again now that bungie can get a bigger budget and more staff
. bungies plans for expanded media like a series or a movie can be realised with sony pictures
cons
. history repeating bungie repeatably congratulating themselves for being independent again is going against everything they've said to us and themselves
. Exclusive content if your a d1 vet and early d2 player you know how bad it was with activision even though they've said they wont they only mentioned witch queen wont have them
. what about after the final shape as far as they've said all content within the light and dark saga will be multiplatform
overall the potential to what could happen is now alot brighter than what it was but its hard not to read inbetween the lines and be cautiously optimistic, what does everyone else think?
dont know if this is a relevant update but sony have just announced they plan to launch more than 10 live service games by 2026

1 ReplySony might pull some exclusive greedy bs eventually but ultimately I think this is good for Destiny. Now it might be possible to get expansions the size of Forsaken and Taken King again. Since Shadowkeep yearly expansions have felt very small in comparison.

It’s not about console wars

We really need Mel Brooks to do a song about this.

Hopefully the exotic weapon exclusives won't be gamebreaking and more so gimmicky and niche. Like Wave splitter and Borealis.

5 RepliesI expect some kind of in game exclusive content, but we’ll see how it pans out. The game will stay as it is though - if this I have little doubt.

7 RepliesIt’s “buy our masters’ console or miss out” starting as early as Season 16.
the acquisition
Wouldn't that be a neat new Exotic for WQ? Accompanying that could be cousin Exotic "the Sell out"....LOL

9 RepliesI’m going to go with sole acquisition reasoning was due to Sony pictures blowing up, while this can put more money into the game and make it better. For me This confirmed their plan to bring destiny to other media tv/movies etc. They have access to a lot more resources now ie teams who could easily make that vision a reality.
