Will there be playstation exclusive content now vs other areas, are we expecting bigger changes to how the game is played, does playstation want bungie to continue what they're doing mow or change everything?
Guess I'm asking: what does the future of destiny 2 look like now that this is happening? Will there be transparency?

1 ReplyOnce again, this has been addressed by bungie, go read their update post. No exclusivity.

In-game content exclusive to PS. Less content for more money so a large portion of the team can make other games.

It was the only studio Sony could afford.
-
Couple years and kicked to the curb again for being a shite development studio. Just like what happened with Activision and Microsoft.

1 ReplyEdited by KaosSoulja: 2/1/2022 5:26:34 AMWell I see Bubgie Smugglers on the Horizon for all Guardians haha. “A jocular reference to a man's tight-fitting swimming costume or swimsuit” just in case you don’t know :)

Sony bought Bungie for a few reasons. 1) They are a successful Live Service game and wish to outsource Bungie to help with future Sony projects that are Live Service. 2) Destiny IP for Multi-Media development rights. IE Movies (Sony Picture Studios) TV, etc. 3) Sony wants a psuedo Activision Owning Blizzard situation for the future seeing that Bungie is so successful just baised off of one franchise post Halo. Some will say "it was a reaction to Microsoft buying Activision". While this maybe slightly true, reports are coming out this 'deal' has been in the works for 6 months. Around the same time when Bungie started 'expanding' oddly enough.

Hopefully everyone is fired

Just a matter of time until the bullshit starts from Sony. I simply don't have the energy or time invest into a game that treats me like a second class citizen. Hopefully I can get a refund for witch queen from $ony.

Bungie has been bought out and Sony now calls all the shots. TLDR: Sony is now the owner…

As long as I can play on PC/Steam, meh. Bungie wants to be hypocritical and flop between independence and being a corporate acquisition, that's their business

No matter what a press release says you don’t pay 3.6 billion and not be the one making the rules. Also I think this is the end of complaints of streamer’s power because it’s now a non issue. Whether this will be great for the game or not it remains to be seen. I personally think it will because Sony will expect a return for the cash laid out. I think that Bungie couldn’t have been all that broke all this time because though Sony might have sweetened the pot they weren’t spending money without thinking of value. Certainly interesting times!! I hope it’s great for the game but it’s Sony now even if their employees are old Bungie;)

4 RepliesA ton of forum complaints for no reason

2 RepliesI expect it’ll be worse than the Activision days for the game, then we’ll also have a cringy TV adaptation to be embarrassed about. At least they didn’t sell out to WB I guess.

Ability to switch off Xbox players from cross play? -
Over the next year, probably not much
-
I hope it means Vendor refreshes New maps More destinations More exotic quests More story content All the things that Bungie said they couldn’t do on there own ,Imagine having Uncharted or Horizon like destinations in Destiny

tankerwhite4PVP mains are the biggest crybabies - old
Im expecting it to be mostly the same, people are just overreacting -
2 RepliesNot a good one lol
especially if they own Activision too, Activisionis the sole reason we don't have trading sadly
Gimme a couple of Snazzy new Hand cannons and I’m all good… move along nothing to see here

Way too early to ask any of these questions. Sony owns Bungie and Destiny Franchise now. In the statement, Bungie is stated to be an independent Studio but how the organisational structure will be done, will sony replace some of the directors or management in Destiny (I think Bungie would secure themselves and employees from that, but you never know), will Sony will provide additional studio power like Activision did, Will the structure of the game (as in Seasons and DLC) change eventually? Coming months will tell a lot, but I think it is way too early to say
