Whenever you leveled up one of the reputation vendors, such as the Vanguard or a faction, you've always had an option between weapons, armor, or added Chroma armor of that vendor. Why not have it back here, now that the loot pools are excessively swelled with gear, even just considering armor and weapons separately, and Bungie refusing to separate them back into their respective activities or between vendors to make it easier, it's near impossible to go for a specific weapon or armor piece because of how deep the pool for everything goes, and with most weapons having a much smaller chance of dropping over a small handful like the Memory Interdict and the Ikelos shotgun being almost every other drop from any source, other weapons like the Annual Skate and the Seraph weapons seem practically impossible to get. And with such a small and near irrelevant activity exclusive loot pool for Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit, there's virtually no reason to play anything other than just your preferred mode and then just hope you get it like everyone else as you have the same chance for it no matter what you play, making nothing feel special or rewarding.

4 RepliesNah, you know what in fact MUST return tho? Activision (Now under Microsoft) A publisher. Not a greedy developer who also started publishing. Only hope for this game to become good and actually enjoyable while not wasting our time is a publisher buying the rights to D2. Activision had their hands over destiny development through d1 all the way, d2 year 1 and year 2. Best times in Destiny were when "Greedy", excuse me "Bungie", didn't have the control.

1 ReplyEdited by Xero: 1/31/2022 2:11:07 PMWon't happen. The system for rewards has already been reworked since the community was asking for "vendor refreshes" for so long. Bungie put that in via adding the "rank progress" to incentivize repetitively playing said activity on top of rotating armor. So this is intentional. Combine that with the Prismatic Recaster in the H.E.L.M. on Umbral Engrams, and we have choices on how we want to spec the weapons and armor for seasons, or we can just get more "world drops" Maybe a suggestion is needed for how Prime Engrams can get a similar treatment, since that hasn't been changed up in a while? (Hopeful assumption it can even be done...) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Destiny 1 factions were great little time sinks. Dump some mats in them, have a chance at a rare ship or shader

Edited by Double07: 1/31/2022 6:56:45 PMIt’s because of the token system that vendors are now giving us shoddier rewards. D1 reputation rewards was great, and better in fact because: 1. We had the option to choose between armor or weapons. 2. We had a better chance at getting something that is worthwhile. (Random rolls had more perk columns) 3. Even if it was something we didn’t want, it always went above our level, so we could use it as infusion fodder.

Or else?

Won't happen unless their design philosophy changes. Bungie seems to want to base the replayability of this game HEAVILY towards RNG. That's why I usually wait about a month into each xpac/season so I have content unlocked and it actually feels worth the money I paid for it
