hi
I wonder if anyone could help me.
I get the notification 'contacting destiny servers' a lot for about 2 months now. I have this on both pc and playstation when i'm home, at my dormitory or at my boyfriends place. I restarted my router and i deleted the game but i still have the notification. When i play with my boyfriend he tells me it's like i run at 2fps but when i play on pc it shows me that i run on average 70-80fps i also see lag in my game but it's not reaaaaally bad but just enough to annoy me. If i use wired connection it might solve my problem at home but not at my dormitory or when i'm at my boyfriends place.
My pc is also up to date and is a new one since october.
Anyone any idea what my problem could be?

1 ReplyHello! Since you troubleshot your networking hardware and you don't experience slowdowns or issues besides with Destiny 2, I would check your NAT type and connection speeds when not using a wired connection at home. You can check your NAT type by going into your Destiny 2 in game settings > gameplay > at the bottom under network data it will display your NAT type. You can run speed tests on your connections here: https://www.speedtest.net/ If your NAT type is strict then it can cause issues when playing with someone with a different NAT type etc.
The server's message “Contacting Destiny Servers” indicates that there is a connection issue of some kind happening between you and Destiny 2. This may be an internet service provider issue. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue: A wired connection is recommended to play Destiny, and if your connection is being used for other things when playing the game, such as streaming, it's recommended to quit those programs. 2. Clearing your console cache or, if on PC, verifying the integrity of your game files. 3. Power cycling your internet router 4. Review our guide on improving latency and packet loss to see if that might help 5. Following our NTG for best optimizing your connection to Destiny. If issues persist, try our ADNG Advanced Steps Networking Guide for possible router solutions, such as enabling UPnP. You may also want to enable IPV6 on your router if you have it. 6. This player found a solution that involves installing a new network driver 7. You may want to change your DNS server on your console to Google's Nameservers (8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4.) 8. Contact your internet service provider to see if there are any issues with your connection.
