So, I've recently enabled Cross save, I'm using my husband's ps4 to play now because my computer is having issues. This is something I think needs to be fixed or adjusted or whatever it is, just Bungie needs to do this. I love that they enabled Cross play and Cross save but I hate that the dlc does not stick with your account. With how much they charge for each dlc, I've already paid more for this one game than for any other thing I own. The dlc each costs so much and it's not fair to make us pay twice for dlc for the same account. Do you agree with me?

Bungie have nothing to do with that solution really.

Game and dlc licences are controlled by the platform you bought it on and they don't like to share. When you purchase a game or dlc part of the money goes to that platform provider (even with the consoles as Microsoft and Sony make no profit from console sales). So you want the dlc on another platform that provider wants their share of the money. Bungie can not afford to pay all the platforms their share (on average around 30% of the purchase cost) as they need to make money as well not lose 20% per sale (30% times the 4 platforms equals 120%). It is not Bungie's fault if someone changes platform for whatever reason and they do already help by allowing players to access save data from other platforms by introducing cross save.
-
Bungie cannot force this to happen. The platform is the one that sold you the expansions, you would to get them to have it cross platforms
-
Reach out to Steam support and ask them to pay Sony to let you play there. See how well that works out.
-
Expansion licenses are completely controlled by the platform. Bungie has zero control over how the licensing for the platforms work.
-
It's not Bungie. It's the four gaming platforms want their cut. Sony, steam, Xbox and stadia.
-
Not possible unless bungie pays each platform an absurd amount of $$ to cover all the lost transaction fees. If bungie pulled a fast one and tied all dlc to the eververse (which allows it to be cross platform sharable), every platform would drop D2 and bring them to court like Apple did with Epic.

2 RepliesNo 3rd party game that I heard of lets you buy one version and play it for free on every other platform. What you are asking for is unrealistic in our type of economy. Is like having hbo on comcast and expecting xfinity or other cable companies to give it to you for free just because you already paid for it on another service.

tankerwhite4PVP mains are the biggest crybabies - old
Not bungie who controls this -
When you purchase a DLC, you are purchasing a license to use on that platform it is tied to your platform, not your Bungie account.

There’s no where companies would let that happen . They would lose so much money .

We shouldn't have to, but it's out of our control. As far as we know, If another platform were to allow for that, what money would they get from somebody mainly paying for the content on another platform, while allowing cross save/play? People would be playing completely free of charge. That's how it should be, since nobody should have to pay twice for the same item. Sadly, how else do we get cross play/save in the first place? It cost money at the end of the day, as do all things. No developer would allow for otherwise, especially with investors borderline calling the shots in most big companies. Long story short, money talks more than it should.

You have to pay each platform for letting you play on their service. Nothing to do with bungie.
