FOR CLARIFICATION: This is not about increasing the size of the Postmaster...
I can't count how many times I've lost a 'nice' drop due to some Rare (blue) engram shoving it off the Cliff of Despair. I hope I'm not the only one who has experienced this... most recently, lost two exotic engrams for two blue weapons...
But, I've got some ideas... and I'd like to hear yours as well.
1st Option - Playlist Rewards Management. This would be very much like a toggle switch per playlist, and the toggle auto-resets each season so you don't accidently forget. Basically, you can choose your Crucible playlist, Vanguard playlist, Gambit, Dungeon, Raid, whatever... and toggle an option to auto-dismantle Rare and lesser, or Legendary and lesser drops, or none at all. Items that aren't going to be in your inventory longer than you can dismantle them no longer have to be individually dealt with... they just instantly become glimmer (another topic, but please... increase the cap), gunsmith materials (again, a resource that needs to be better utilized... sitting on 10k) and if you opt-in on Legendary, shards. Did you opt-in to auto-dismantle Legendaries in the Crucible, but now you want to try and farm a roll? No problem. Toggle the auto-dismantle to Rare and Lesser instead of Legendary and Lesser (or turn it off for the Crucible entirely). And of course, with Light levels ever increasing, it would be vital to reset toggles to off on all playlists each Season, then you can opt back in.
2nd Option - Postmaster Overflow. Utilize the Guardian's Vault space for overflow. We have 500 vault slots, and if you hoard a little like me, you are around 400/500 capacity. Even still, that quadruples your Postmaster space and makes it so you have to return to the tower less often between your slay sessions.
3rd Option - Postmaster Priority. The Postmaster should prioritize the items held in queue by value/rarity, not by oldest items drop first. That way, exotics are never lost for a Rare again. Exotics (yellow) over Legendary, Legendary (purple) over Rare, Rare (blue) over Uncommon, Uncommon (green) over Common (white).
Personally, I'd love to see 1st and 3rd options both implemented together... I'd love to not have to waste time dismantling things I knew were going to be dismantled before they even dropped, and in the event it is the beginning of a Season and you are still using Rare drops to increase Light level, a Rare won't shove that Exotic drop you missed off the platforms of Titan where it can now only be enjoyed by the methane-loving Leviathan (not Calus' ship, the serpentine monstrosity).
All that being said, I've never loved a game so much as I love Destiny... from the first time I woke on the steps of the Cosmodrome on my X360, this game and community has brought me many good times and countless hours of fun.

3 RepliesI think the "auto dismantle blues" option that pretty much everyone wants at this point is a better solution.
