Internet connection led to me being banned permanently.

So as a 14 still living in my parents house obviously, it is a bit of common sense that them working from home would make my connection to games poorer/worse, and i am completely fine with that as i value they're work over my playing. However, what i am not fine with is my account being banned for 182619 days. I get that leaving games constantly can lead to being restricted and temporary bans but in my opinion having a basically 'permanent' ban is a little bit overkill don't you guys think? And especially since this was my first ever any kind of restriction or let alone ban, i just think it is a bit unfair me playing this game for a couple of years now all the way from Destiny 1 (Yes i played it as a kid) that i done one thing wrong and all the sudden i am just banned for 500 years lmfao. Anyway i am hoping that a moderator of some sorts could actually reply to this and although i would be over the moon if my ban was lifted (of course i am not expecting that) i just think we all, as a community deserve to have answers as to why these bans are so serious.

  • Hi there. The Bungie forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction. Please review the ban or restriction appeal contact form found here. Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy found here.

    • You can’t be permanently network banned anymore unless you were banned before beyond light for network.

    • Bungie does not ban for connections and never has. If you have a permanent restriction from PVP activities, it was put in place before Bungie changed how they punish connection issues, and it will not be changed. If you have a ban, it is for cheating, playing with a cheater, getting a paid carry or recovery, etc. If you submitted an appeal, that is it. There is nothing further to be done.

      • They don't usually ban for lagging or a general bad connection; bans are mostly down to cheating, playing together with people cheating, running hacks, trainers and mods (even for other games) while playing Destiny 2, and also to very bad behaviours (like racial slurs while playing).
