For the love of God make Matchmaking a option for dungeons

I've tried multiple times to get into a fireteam for the new dungeon and I cant seam to get in... Can we please get a matchmaking option for grasp of avarice? Put a level bar on it if need be like GM nightfalls... But please for the love of the traveller and all things holy make this activity a matchmaking one 😭😭

  • Will continue to pass this feedback along. While I know the team is interested in improving LFG options for Destiny 2 (on bungie.net and in-game), I can't promise Matchmaking options for endgame activities. Lots of risk in poor experiences when players quit, lag out, or only join up to farm a specific checkpoint. In any case, thanks for the thread. Will make sure your feedback is heard!

      • After running it last night with my clan, and loving every second of it, I would highly suggest that this particular dungeon could easily be done with match making as it is not 'as' required to have good communication. Now having claimed that I would have hated to do this my first time through (and we intentionally stayed away from all info on it so it would be new for us) as trying to figure out the mechanics always has a need for good communication. But if people watched videos before hand then sure why not! Note while in a great clan I'm pretty much a lone soloist the vast majority of the time so I'm always 100% pro-match making!!!

        • Yes please add matchmaking to the dungeons. You are already trying it out for Trials and what I saw from peoples feedback is that they loved it.

              • Maybe with this conditions it would be possible to add matchmaking: 1) Capping it at a cartein level (ex without MM 1310/ With MM 1320) just to make sure that people have a little bit more experience 2) Every encounter can drop evertything, but every encounter have better chanche to drop X loot (ex: The first encounter can drop everything, but it’s more likely to drop a HC or a leg armor. Second encounter can drop everything, but it’s more likely to drop a sniper or a helmet and so on) So it’s less likely that people leave after completing X encounter 3) Not 100% sure about this one, but you can make so that matchmaking is available only when the player has completed every encounter X amount of times (3 full runs for example, in order to avoid people without any experience at all) Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language

              • For the love of God add mm but only if the person has a mic the amount of time wasted trying to communicate in un mm activities has been absurd in the past I mean ffs people still don't double charge the balls in corrupted

              • No reason why there can’t be matchmaking. All that is needed is an opt in/out option, simple as that. Don’t want matchmaking, simply opt out, but for those of us that want matchmaking, let us opt in to a matchmaking pool. If there was optional matchmaking I would have purchased the Anniversary pack, but as it is I decided against it. Probably won’t buy WQ either. Optional matchmaking would encourage me to play more activities, but as is I really can’t be bothered with LFG and most of the stuff in this game anymore. Sadly I think my time in this game is near done. Don’t want to give me the matchmaking option, then I don’t want to give you my money, quite simple.

Gallajhorn is unobtainable for me. And i already pre ordered witch queen/30th anniversary etc..

                    • There should be MM for dungeons. 0 excuse to not have it. This dungeon i went in blind with a "learning" team and had no issues except an error cause by servitor falling off map on the shield break part. Did we die a couple times? Yes but who doesn't when learning new things? MM can be OPTIONAL, you can form your own fireteam if needed. Not having MM for these activities is just laziness on Bungo's side and having to rely on a 3rd party app to form a team is moronic at best. The ONLY reason this could be an issue is for activities with locked loadout and that should ONLY be for GM's tbh. Restricting loadouts is a trite and lazy way to force difficulty...

                      Matchmaking? No. Group Finder? Hell, yes. A simple drop down menu for the class or subclass (es) you're looking for. If you can code it into a page on a website, there is literally zero reason why you can put it in a game (especially when you're charging people for content they can't use because they live in the wrong timezone or have issues communicating etc.)

                        I'm not against this but make it an option to toggle off and on (just keep in mind you will match with people using a loadout that most likely isn't optimal). I still want the option to be able to solo it. Don't make it auto search for guardians which would make me have to bypass it by setting my system to a different date & time.

                        For all the bullshit "lab work" they put into Trials, you'd think they'd at least give matchmaking a try in the "tougher" content if only just for the weekend.

Trials is PvP with no mechanics whatsoever, Dungeons are PvE with mechanics, and we already know there are shitty PvE players in Heroic nightfall when they don't even come in with anti champ mods. But I guess you all like making stuff harder on yourself. So if it does get implemented, don't -blam!- that you keep getting matchmade with total square little lights.

                          I would prefer an MM and/or LFG option, so it’s up to the player to roll the dice… The reason being, once the team assembles, what happens next is crucial…and still a big unknown! For me, I share my load out with my new buds and see if they have suggestions to make it better…and, if so, I make the changes. This is good for many reasons, the first of which, is to take a sounding of my new buds’ characters…are they patient / friendly or angry and potentially hostile? And it also gives them a quick intro to ‘me’, too! It is at this point that a crucial decision must be made: stay or bounce? Language issues apart, the risks in going forward are faced by the whole team: are my team any good? Will they go the distance? Will they cooperate? Will the leader and his m8 boot me at the final chest? Etc…etc. I’m in a clan of me and my son…been here since HALO days, and D1Y1…as the comms link was superior to skype; now he’s all growed up ‘n’ stuff, I still maintain our 2-man clan for the same comms link, and, a little nostalgia to boot! So, for this Senior Citizen Guardian, LFG has been a thing…if I wanted to get certain quests and stuff done; and for the most part, it’s worked a treat. To date, there’s been a few occasions where I’ve bounced early or soon enough, due to toxic / angry or peculiar people. And that’s where the initial roll of the dice is often such a good indicator. I’ve played with very Senior Guardians, very young kinderguardians (not so much these days, unlike in the earlier years), people with language barriers; people who are naturally shy - across the whole spectrum; etc…etc. but, most all have that true Guardian spirit, and that’s what makes it fun! So, as a solo player that still likes to do team stuff, LFG is a thing. I would prefer to have the option to choose, though, between MM and LFG; though, whichever option I choose, it’ll still be a roll of the 🎲!!! * ‘Whinny’ the starhorse is a hoot! The 30th GoA and Starhorse stuff is very well done! GG to ALL involved at BHQ! Just my 2d worth. YMMV. Cheers! MDGA 👈 *edited to add this! lol

                        • I honestly don’t really see how so many people can’t seem to utilize lfg especially after cross play. It’s literally on this app and it’s so easy to use now. And for the dungeons most groups don’t even require anything.

                        • Optional Matchmaking I think having the option would be great! Then those that need help can get it & those that don’t then they can easily opt out. It would help those that don’t have people to play with…or the ones they do play with, are unable to contribute enough to obtain certain goals. Or, if someone wants to run a strike solo or just with 1 buddy, then that’s great too.
