What about ornaments then? Ornaments should do more than just be an expensive shader. An ornament can change weapon model or even the weapon scope. Let's use exotic armor as an example, those have ornaments and those also accepts shaders.

No way in hell. If they were to allow that, then how would they keep selling us shaders disguised as ornaments in eververse???
-
Edited by Tin Akkar: 11/21/2021 4:29:18 AMFr tho. Bungie won’t allow us to put shaders on them because they want us to spend money on their -blam!- ornaments that are really just over-glorified shaders. For instance; the silver ornaments for Vex Mythoclast and Erianas’ Vow which were introduced last season.
-
There's literally no reason not to.

Edited by Zer0Warri0r: 11/21/2021 3:04:32 PMI dont want Bungie to waste anymore dev time on cosmetic anything. The last time we asked for customization like trasmog its $15 a set piece if you dont want to spend two weeks unlocking your two armor sets for the season of armor you already bought and earned in game. They add shaders to exotics and suddenly its spend a week earning a currency to unlock one shader for one exotic or spend $5 to unlock it instantly.
-
No. Exotics should not be able to accept shaders. They are exotic. They are supposed to be unique in appearance. Putting legendary shaders or rare shaders or uncommon shaders on an exotic weapon tarnishes this exotic status and makes it just like other legendary guns.
-
That will make Bungie and Ever-worse lose a lot of money. Never happen!
-
-
I mean they can easily make this work. Because if you inspect a shader your exotic weapon changes to the shader color. But then bungie can’t sell ornaments l. So they will never do this
-
But they wont because it make like 90% of the exotic ornaments useless like ALL the Surros ones.

I just want to know why they can't make an all black shader... is it to much to ask.
-
Is there anyone that disagrees with this? lmao people should just stop buying ornaments that look like shaders, maybe then bungie will bother to make actual ornaments.
-
They already do, put on a primary exotic and inspect a shader in collections, THE SHADERED GUNS ALREADY EXIST!!!! except we are locked behind it when it's literally a thing...
-
Yup. A lot of the ornaments clearly change the look of an exotic, but some are clearly just shaders. Most notably the one for Vex. How much you got on Ghorn's being the Iron Ghorn?
-
Personally think shaders actually devalue most items. Nothing really stands out in this game.
-
me: waiting for a ornament that isnt gambit chrome.

Edited by Olórin: 11/20/2021 12:50:35 AMSlightly off topic but... Exotic weapons should make Orbs regardless of Catalyst, Catalysts drop bonus Orbs (in PvE)
-
They definitely should be able to have shaders applied to them. They fear that people won't buy ornaments, but the horrible colors of many ornaments are why I won't spend money on them.
-
But then they can't sell ornaments that are just shaders
-
It's just money grabbing that they don't. Allows them to get away with horrible content like the vex """ornament"""
-
Funny enough before Beyond Light any none Shadowkeep exotic if it was in the kinetic slot could be seen with the shader you clicked on
-
my ornament is just gambit chrome.
-
I agree, but it’ll never happen. Eververse has to sell those ornaments.
-
Exotics shouldn't accept shaders OR ornaments. They are EXOTIC and should be defined by a singular state.
-
I totally agree that we should be able to apply shaders to exotic weapons. However, adding the ability to do this I imagine may interfere with Bungies business model including selling exotic ornaments in Everis store. People would be less likely to buy weapon ornaments if it just needed a colour change. I don't see this being the same experience with armor. Ornaments are there to enhance the look of a particular weapon not to change it to something it is not. For example it would be strange or impossible to shoot if it had a scope from an ornament where there isn't one on the actual weapon. Practically comes first for me on this one.
-
They were planning to do this, that’s why when you view a full detail of a shader from collections on your character and you have an exotic kinetic equipped it’ll change colours too But, it was too glitchy so they couldn’t
