Known Issue: Increase in Rutabaga Errors
A group of individuals discovered and reported an issue where players can generate more orbs than intended when triggering some supers. The team has been working on a fix for this, currently targeting December for release.
To prevent exploitation of this issue, the team has deployed some changes that will force Rutabaga errors when players attempt to reproduce the bug. With this change, we are also aware that players who experience extreme sustained framerate hitching in PvP environments may encounter this error more frequently than normal.
If you encounter Rutabaga errors when playing in PvP environments for reasons other than reproducing the orb generation issue, please respond to this thread with details on what you were doing when the error occurred.

I keep getting a time skew max error when playing crucible and gambit. Graphics are as low as I can get them, but still getting booted. And then it suspends me, and I get worried that I’ll get in trouble for something that is not my fault and that I am trying to fix. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I am at my wits’ end. GPU at 70-80c, memory at 80%, cannot figure why this keeps happening.

This is happening to make every hour or so while I try to play the witch queen campaign on legendary solo. I have all my graphic settings at low. Totally locks up the session and kicks me back to Orbit.

ever since the start of WQ my computer has had issues loading into any activity, where at the start frames will lag producing many rutebega errors, thats not including the frame drops i get randomly that seem to stay dropped till i close and reset the game

I constantly get this rutabaga error code and it makes the game unplayable in random instances due to frame rate drops. I can see each time my frame rates drops and other players are using super they produce way more orbs than they should and I get booted to orbit or the game crashes. I’m a loyal bungie shame player since Marathon in fact and I just can’t seem to have a clean play session without this error. I never used the min/max glitch or any other glitch for that matter but when I purchase my first pc prior to beyond light I was a bit of a newb and only knew how to jump out of destiny without closing the game by control alt deleting and although I do t do that anymore unless it’s frozen I continue to be targeted by battle eye I suppose and receiving the rutabaga error code

Came back after 2 years and started the Beyond Light campaign. I get 1fps when a cut scene plays. I have to skip them. Well, halfway through "The new Kell" quest, there's a cut scene. I could not skip it and I get booted to orbit with a Time Skewed error. Makes no sense.

This is still happening for me. I've tried everything to mitigate it but nothing seems to work for very long. It's made the game virtually unplayable for me.

As per my comment below, I get this error code whenever I try to land in the tangled shore or dreaming city. However, I have found that if I am In a fire team and not the leader, I can load into these areas, albeit with a longer loading time. Thought this might be useful.

1 ReplyBungie... I am beyond words. I love your games, I really do. But ever since this change I have been unable to leave orbit. My internet is fast, my drivers are updated, I have hundreds of GB of storage space for you to use, I run at the lowest graphics settings imaginable. Yet I cannot leave orbit because of this broad bugfix... I go through the cutscene of entering an area on my ship and even get audio that I landed and the music of the area starts, but a black screen remains and then I am ported back to orbit with more disappointment than a single father just finding out his son wants to be a Broadway dancer. I understand this bugfix is meant to combat players that try to break the game with broken mechanics, which is something I greatly appreciate personally. I will accept that we all need to be patient with this (hopefully) temporary bugfix. But please, try to find a way to do the fix with some other means, because with my recent purchases of Witch queen and your 30th anniversary pack, I feel as though I am basically being thrown out back to orbit like a guy who bought a martini at a bar only to have the bouncer throw me out because the guy next to me was causing problems. Please please please I want to play destiny again as it is one of the few things I still get to enjoy in these trying times. Thank you.

1 ReplyAfter your maintenance today I still can’t access my patrol zones and occasionally get kicked from crucible for no reasons due to rutabaga. Personally too scared to attempt gambit again because I don’t wanna get banned for no reason again. I have messed with my PC and done enough research to know this is not anything that can be fixed on my end especially seeing how the game has ran perfectly fine since I came back to it on my desktop 2 months ago. I bought your game a second time because I missed it when I used to play 3 years ago and it feels like I don’t even get to play half of it. After spending another $100 on steam to play it again. All I ask is some form of acknowledgment or update besides the bungie support tweet link from over 2 weeks ago.

2 RepliesI'm currently encountering this error even in PvE environments, as well as PvP. I didn't even know about the exploit until I began to get the error and went searching for why. This occurs almost any time I try to play in the game at this point. It originally was only happening in PvP. I went searching for why and saw it was related to tabbing out, so I stopped tabbing out. It continued, so I began to close anything else I had open on the PC, which is very frustrating since I use things like Google Chrome and Discord while playing to coordinate my bounties/find friends to play with/etc. Even with nothing open and no alt-tabbing, I am still unable to even load into the EDZ patrol zone. For example, everything closed on my PC except the game. I am in the Destiny 2 window. I click EDZ. I click where I want to drop. I click to head there and take my hands entirely off my keyboard and mouse. I still get rutabaga and am unable to load in. This is preventing me from playing basically at all at this point and it's incredibly frustrating, as the game ran completely fine before now. I even lowered my graphics to the minimum just in case! No change. Any help or feedback on what I could do would be appreciated. Hard to prep for the anniversary when I can't even load into patrols.

Every time i try to load into the planet of nessus, the cosmodrome, or gambit i get kicked with a rutabaga error. I’ve messed with my settings a lot and nothing fixes it. Bungie pls help, i just bought the new expansion and i cant even play half of the game. I ALSO CANT VISIT XUR HALF OF THE FRIGGIN TIME BC OF WHERE HE IS AND THE PLANETS I CANT LOAD INTO.

I cant even load into a patrol area without encountering this issue. I've tried everything to fix it. So does it also apply to PVE, because it has been for me

1 ReplyNo issue before today. Downloaded the latest update. Played for a couple of hours without an issue. Completed a gambit match. Queue for a Crucible match. Half way through, BAM, Time Skew Maxed! Rutabaga Error. Happened twice. Both time with a fully drawn Wolftone Draw. Bugged bow....?

I have tried everything from reducing my Settings to lowest possible, to reinstalling, updating all Windows updates and drivers, updating my GPU, ect. I can't leave orbit. I can no longer play the game due to black screen then kicked when I try to go anywhere. What is the point of having a game that you can't play? 'Wallpaper Engine' does more than Destiny 2 since your "FIX". I run a 2070 Super, 32 GB memory, 2TB SSD, Two 4k monitors, with Windows 10 (V: 2HXX) I can play the newest games, with nearly the highest settings enabled. Thank god I didn't buy the Queen or 30th dlc. I jsut started getting this error after the latest hotfix. I get it when trying to land in the Tangled Shore and Dreaming city. I need to talk to spider for some material exchange, but I am unable to land at all. Tried adjusting my settings to no avail. I have a high end PC and fast fiber optic internet, so I know it isn't on my end.

Ok so now my patience is gone...... You put out a Hotfix and didn't even try to address the Rutabaga Error??? What the hell Bungie???? Are you taking lessons from Bethesda?? I've never had any issues with this game and now all of a sudden it's unplayable, then you put out a Hotfix that does nothing to fix the main error that's making it impossible to play your game?? I wouldn't be so angry, but I just came back to the game and PAID for season pass, and now I can't even use it. When is this going to get fixed? I can't load any worlds (except tower), I frequently get errored out of Gambit and Strikes AS THEY ARE LOADING IN!! I'm obviously not doing a super cheat as I load in! I've tried lowering graphics and no dice, still getting the error consistently. Please fix this!

Since the latest hotfix, I'm getting a lot of fps lag in every activity and, as from today, I cannot enter any open world area because of the rutabaga error. The problem is always the very short fps drop that happens during the black screen before spawning in any area. The game is basically unplayable this way, Bungie please remove this rutabaga fix, it is just breaking the game.

When I try to launch the mission the harbinger on the EDZ I get returned to orbit with the alert for timeskew and error code rutabaga.
