This question has already been asked, but it would be nice to hear an answer from an employee: Can I submit a custom gametype with my map? I have a modified version of Infection that my map heavily relies on, and I want to know if I'm eligible to enter it in the contest. The rules did not specify if this was an option.

Anybody else having a hard time finding enough people to run a match. Well at least for me for my BTB map. I am willing to help people play on their maps and test them if they need people i just need at least a 6v6 or so, so i can at least send my submission.

For Invasion, which template are we supposed to use? Invasion, Invasion Slayer, Invasion - Spire/Boneyard?? I assumed Invasion, but I wasn't sure exactly would be the most effective for the contest. Also it says in the rules that you have to have a video showing how the map is supposed to be played. Since Invasion it says it has to work for Invasion and Invasion Slayer, does that mean you need 2 videos? Or would One video showing one of those 2 be sufficient?

Hey i am making a slayer map, located in the same spot in forge world as asylum and atom and cliffhanger. I just started but it is coming along well. I want the map to be what the community likes. I dont know if I should make a more open map or have a map like The Cage with alot of hiding spots. I am more than likely going to incorporate both features into my map. Also I am unsure as to what power weapons I should place on the map. For sure there is going to be a sniper, most likely not a shotgun( I want my map to promote more skilled accuracy with longer range weapons i.e. sniper and dmr. Rockets are always fun to race for at the beginning of the game. It would be awesome if i could get some feedback from all of you on these topics. Thanks alot!!!

Anyone know?[/quote] Symmetrical has nothing to do with map layout. Symmetrical maps are those where both blue and red team have equal (or very close to equal) advantages and disadvantages. In many cases, conforming to that requirement results in a map that is laid out symmetrically. But there are many exceptions to this. For example, take a symmetrical layout. In the center, have an entrance to a tunnel. The tunnel can go in any direction, breaking the apparent symmetry of the layout. Yet, it is a symmetrical map, because the entrance itself is equal distance for both teams to traverse. Both teams must expend equal effort to get to the tunnel.

The proportions are very similar and the geometry is mostly similar. I took some very, very serious creative license to cut down sight lines and add to the dynamics of the map. Would that be excluded from the contest?

I'm wondering how strict they are on the originality of the map.. Are our maps that are inspired by old maps (not exact remakes/ripoffs) o.k?

Ok this is just silly. People are asking intelligent questions, and not a single response? That's kind of disgusting. I know it's easy to look at the forums and dismiss the entire community as a bunch of whiny babies, but people are asking legitimate questions here. It would be great as your fans to have a response. So here is a question that has been asked a few times already: [i][b]"As non-US residents, can we still submit a map that abides by the rules, purely for consideration into matchmaking?"[/b][/i] I don't see the issue really if we state in the contest entry that we are a non-US resident and not out to win the prize. I know our backwards Canadian government takes issue with contests or lotteries, but to stifle the creativity of your fans in other parts of the world just because "it's too complicated legally," that's a poor defense. Ok im so excited about this contest i cant wait to see all the cool new maps. On that note. Ive created my map and have 3 screen shots and a quick walkthrough video and also a Game type for the map all in my file share. I am however having trouble with the email part and linking my file share to my bungie account. Will there be a basic video maybe?..showing how to enter this contest correctly..ive seen the entry rules and they are done well im just having difficulty linking the 2 together. When i click my file share on bungie.net it tells me to sign up but i obviously am a member of xboxlive and bungie.net...ugh..im just confused HELP! please! :)

i agree an armor effect would be a much better prize considering we all obviously have an xbox360 and a copy of halo reach..lol..whatever right?! At least we get a chance to put our forge maps up for actual online play..yay!

Does that mean "symmetrical' in the sense that a 4 cornered room must have all 4 corners/sections be identical (like the letter X), or can it be symmetrical half-wise (like the letter Z)? Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I was wondering if this map contest that is due on the 28th of november, is also applied for Canada residents as well? I would not be asking this if i did not have a fantastic map already.(which i do) A breif description of it is, that it's a big team slayer map, (could be used for 1 flag) and it takes place within hemerage with a beutiful long bridge that connects red side to blue side. Anyways, please wite back about, if it is possible to apply for this forge contest in Canada. Thank you

I cant wait for the contest, ive got the perfect idea for an awesome slayer, swat, capt. flag, ect. map that im going to start working on tomorrow, why only USA though im in the Us but that still kindov bothers me, can me and a friend enter a map we made together? How do i enter my map? Im almost sure i wont win but i think it will be fun to have Bungie see some of my best work i just hope they like it and who knows i might stand a chance of being one of the winners!
