[opinion] Dungeons, if done right, could be the future of solo-player endgame content - please read

And if you read and agree, upvote. So bungie sees this and all the further opinions you other users post in here. Let's make this the dungeon thread or something. Ideally Destiny 3, or whatever the big final content drop will be, should definitely come with sufficient dungeons. Three or four as per vanilla would be ideal. With one additional dungeon per DLC. If they are as long and tough as, or longer and tougher than, Shattered Throne then that's perfect. Make it a really immersive experience. In a location and environment that is really unique in the game and cool to look at and of course fun to play and be in. But don't forget the loot. Some pinnacle rewards, similar to how Shattered Throne gave you the Wishender bow, is a given. One great exotic piece per dungeon. Maybe it could tie in with the story as well. But aside from that I think it would be cool if dungeons had their own loot pool as well. Legendary weapons and armor sets that you can get only there, in the dungeon. As everyone who playes RPGs knows: Dungeons have treasure chests. And so should Destiny dungeons. And with each chest there should be a chance to get the unique armor pieces and weapons. These dungeons could also come with challenges, minor daily ones which grealy boost the chance of getting the dungeon exclusive gear, but also weekly challenges which are harder but you are guaranteed one dungeon exlusive piece. If you want to make the dungeons and rewards really enticing, then make it so that dungeon weapons and gear also have their own selection of perks that cannot roll on any other weapon from any other source. Perks that are generally useful, but also perks that are especially good to be used in dungeons. Similar to how raid armor gives an edge in raids. This could also be tied to sets and set bonuses, which were more or less introduced in Gambit Prime. There is also room to have dungeons come with modifiers too. I've been missing stuff like Small Arms and Specialist for a while now. Would be a good place to bring them back, right? Dungeons could be themed after each of the enemy factions. Shattered Throne was a taken dungeon, but how about a Fallen themed dungeon in Old Russia for example? Where puzzles conists of platforming through the walls of cosmodromes and hacking old terminals to progress (Similar to Wrath of the Machine). Or a Cabal themed dungeon which is basically some legion's barracks and which focuses more on flat out combat and horde mode. A hive dungeon where we have to recreate their rituals by assembling and placing runes in order to move forward. There's plenty to work with. And some of them could even have real story relevance. Consider this? Do you want the finale against the darkness to be a campaign mission? Or a raid that will require five other people? No no, a much harder, immersive dungeon at the end of D3 that culminates the entire story as our guardian goes in to take on the darkness (or whatever it is) would be the perfect way to wrap things up. Way too good an opportunity. And of course: NO dungeon in no genre is complete without bosses. Dungeons could contain up to three: Two minibosses and one final boss. The minibosses would be the usual fare: Customized and size-increased regular enemies. Maybe with a gimmick or two. But the final dungeon boss would be way more unique. Something between a strike and a raid boss but for single players. I know Bungie already teased they want to do this more. But we haven't heard about it since. So that too is why I made this thread: As some sort of pre-emptive feedback, if that makes sense. This way Bungie gets an idea of what we would like to see and want. So feel free to either agree with me or contribute your own ideas and opinions. Make sure bungie sees this.
