If you're a taco-crucibell enthusiast who's been around a while, you've probably noticed the disparity in super power levels from D1 to D2. Frankly, if your opponent is half competent and casts Hammer of Sol or Nova Warp in D2 you'd be better off jumping off the map or running away for an entire 30 seconds all while avoiding other enemies, as opposed to D1 where there was a multitude of ways to take on any super, even against top tier sweat swag iron lord elo™ farming gods.
You could stop me here and say "but I did x thing to kill y super tens of times therefore supers are balanced", but this isn't a question of balance, this is a question of what you prefer. Would you prefer supers to be risk-reward abilities akin to D1 or do you want them to be extremely powerful, ultra tanky, self-healing (in some cases), long-lasting, low risk abilities that essentially result in free kills?
If you prefer to keep things the same, why, and if you want supers to change how would you generally go about it? Oh, and this is optional, but denote whether you consider yourself a PvE main or a PvP main in your responses too!
Lastly, I believe PvP should never effect PvE in terms of balancing, so keep that in mind when voting. Supers should remain powerful in PvE.

Honestly though, supers are -blam!- strong in D2. If you see one you’re practically dead. Back in D1 you could kill a super without a super and it took a considerable amount of skill to do it consistently. Shotty melee, sniper headshots, and heavy were viable options in the right hands. Lmfao now those things do piss poor damage and you’re better off just running away. Twice in the past week I sniped a nova warp in the head and they hid from me to get health back, proceed to rush me with the remaining 5 days on their super and kill me. In D1 that wouldn’t have happened if I had the skill to hit the shot.

The only way you could challenge a super 1v1 in Destiny 1 was if you had heavy ammo....or if you were both lucky-and-good with a OHK special weapon . Heavy snipers, shotguns and fusion rifles. Destiny 2 got away from that by removing those weapons and throwing them beyind the "power ammo" wall...and then gave us "Energy weapons". But then most supers found themselves getting melted by constant team shooting. I think supers are fine where they are right now. Acting as a potential "rubber band" mechanic to allow teams that are losing to fight their way back into game. want to take it on 1v1? Good luck to you. OTOH, taking one on as a team is possible.

1v1 no non-supered player should be able to challenge a super without say heavy ammo. In fights where you have numerical advantage you teamshot the hell out of them.

A well executed super in D2 is powerful. Those are tactical, pre-meditated, and use the map strategically to maximize kills. But following those strategies, you would get the same kills with D1 or D2 power levels. A poorly executed super in D2 is just as killable as in D1. Now Exotics can and will move the needle on this, but current exotics applied to D1 supers would yield the same results as D2 supers. Is Nova Warp tanky? Yes. But I don't have to run from it when it's poorly executed. Is Blade Barrage insta death? It can be, but I've seen many hunters killed mid animation, so they either trade 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 when poorly executed. Is the Titan missle insta death? Also yes, but a well placed grenade prior to arrival along with firing bullets their way will get you that trade off for a poorly executed one. Hell, if you have one of the powerful heavies with ammo, you can pick them off right out of the sky. Again, it's all in the execution. I could keep going on with all the supers, but I hope you see where I'm coming from. You are going to die from any super when you have an opponent with map knowledge who either baits you into a vulnerable spot or catches you in one that they've been holding out for. But when jimmy rocket pants activates that super from across that open area and comes straight at you - no need to run, jimmy just wasted that super and he can stare at his ghost and think about what he has done for the next 5 seconds.
