Figured I'd make this in case anyone was struggling or interested in doing prestige eow this week
This week's loadout is
Pulse rifle
Submachine gun
Grenade launcher
Primary is very much up to you, I used battle scar due to it having full auto and 10 bursts allowing me to get faster access to the other weapons but time work spire, autumn wind or your personal choice are fine as well.
I used stochastic variable for the elemental but sol pariah and hero's burden work well too, remember to use a void elemental mod on them as the only shielded adds are minotaurs.
Heavy was colony, it's mag size of 7 means more nades per clip and you can simply spam them at the adds, plus it's void making it perfect for the minotaurs.
Jumping pads I don't think anyone struggles on so I'll skip it, phase 1 as well seeing as it plays the same with 3 players clearing adds and 3 breaking mines, so on to boss.
Main thing is damage, this week's weapons and modifier aren't great for it so you'll need to use the spare craniums and supers to kill Argos.
Remember to be using all 6 cannons per phase, three to drag the balls into the socket and use what's leftover to hit Argos and three to be used fully for damage once the shield is down, as soon as you empty the cannons pop supers and deal more damage, celestial nighthawk golden guns are great but so is dawnblade and sunbreaker with top tree.
The best addition to your team will be an orpheus rig hunter, they can spam tethers on the damage plate which will tether harpies, minotaurs and goblins and produce a ton of orbs, I was able to get my hammer back 2-3 times because of this and do major damage, if you have one hunter and have the choice between a celestial and orpheus I'd take the rig.
Biggest thing is to remember to keep swapping on the fly, spam all your weapons on things, this let's you get to your power more often. Empty mag, swap, empty mag, swap, and keep going.
The other thing to remember is because of the modifiers there's more phases then usual, keep that in mind for the long haul and don't get careless and waste lives and tokens; you may need them later.
When shooting Argos' weak points after a damage phase always choose the spots closest to you, you'll be able to hit it with the submachine gun easier when you're forced to swap to it.
Be on guard for the prison spheres and exploding harpies launched at you during damage phase, having someone out of the fight and another person needing to turn away from the fight to free them wastes the precious dps time you have and dying to the harpies means one less token on a boss you'll likely need to get 2-4 damage phases in on.
Keep burning him down with supers and the craniums and you'll be rewarded with a 400 weapon from any raid (I got the spire sidearm), an emblem with tracking prestige numbers, the usual drops along with the full set of ornaments (if you've also done the Leviathan challenges)
Good luck!

This is great! I’ll never do it but is awesome for those with the skilled group of people to pull it off. Nice work!

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 7/20/2018 1:57:14 AMYou really can't stress how important it is to NOT get caught in the Argos energy net.. Seriously, our guns are pretty bad against the net (considering that you're swapping to heavy after you've used craniums and super). Taking the 5 or so seconds to watch, wait, dodge, and then do as much DPS as possible is infinitely more useful than even one person getting caught. That means you either waste super/heavy getting them out AND you have 3 or more people not shooting Argos as well. Argos is a lot easier if you take the extra step.

Just an extra tip you might want to add in! I know not everyone has the raid gauntlets but if you do the melee perk still works. It gives you a chance to get extra heavy ammo, but due to the modifier it sometimes gives you special ammo too. It's pretty strange. If you are using the colony one track grenade and a melee to a goblin will kill it, giving you a chance for more heavy. Just an extra tip. I hope it helps some of you guys!

Here's a tip, shoot your primary and special into the air to get more power ammo. Here's another tip, have two hunters. One to stun, one for orbs. One final tip, do away with this whole garbage system. Nothing but laziness on bungie's part.

You got a Sidearm? So your 400 weapon is a sidearm? I would have almost had to kill myself to get all that done (I'm like pretty bad) and if I got that done and saw a 400 sidearm I would have... wow, don't even want to think about this anymore. Respect to you, sir. For doing that (for being ABLE to do that) and for making this post. Very cool.

I beat it but the only ornament I got was my class item. I have done the other challenges expect Throne so I should get the chest, arms, and legs... shouldn't I?

Edited by EMUracing: 7/19/2018 3:00:07 AMUse an SMG with grave robber to refill the mag on melee kills. Use raid gauntlets to melee enemies and drop power ammo. I really do not like this system at all.

Edited by Octopus: 7/19/2018 2:07:13 PMWas easy and didn't took me long to beat it. However, i hate that it's designed to force players use specific loadouts and bullcrap, rather than just having it like it was in D1. The most s***y hardmode of a raid i've ever played. Not hard, just stupid! If this is the way they turn raids into hardmode or prestige, doing by lazy a** modifiers and limited loadouts, lazy as -blam!-, i'm done with this franchise once and for all. As although this game is s***, it was the raids that always kept me coming back.

Solid tips. Having an Orpheus Rig Hunter was so good while doing this. Using top tree Hammers with Synthoceps I was able to do 5.9 million damage due to repeated super use on Argos. The only reason I know how much damage I did because we didn't kill him that time due to 1 or 2 guys insisting on clearing adds during damage phase which is no good. Add management should be done BEFORE damage for the most part. 👍🏼✌🏼️

rewards are not worth the effort

Thanks this guide was helpful

Thanks for the info. I would love to run it except people are already requiring 15+ completions when its only been out for a day

Correction. You said 1 less ress token. The person who dies loses a token and so does the one who revives... So you lose 2. Great tips by the way.

Thank you Guardian👍

Nice write up. And thank you for the strat tips.

I recommend using prospecter. It's full auto and can be emptied faster and it triggers burns. So it pretty useful when emptying the clip into the boss.

Completed it yesterday after it was released, isn't too difficult when you know how to DPS properly.

Are there any differences to the mechanics like there were in Leviathan or in Hard Mode raids of old as opposed to Normal? Like in the Oryx fight, the Knights were in HM but not normal? Or like how on a second phase of Baths Encounter, it shows who has to go to certain plates? Any of that?

If you've also done the leviathan challenges?
