Today i completed my first Wave 7 Escalation Protocol.
I ran into other 4 randoms trying to complete it. Us 5 managed to get to Wave 7 but we failed. I used LFG to invite two other people into my fireteam and used the in-game local chat to convince other randoms to invite even more people.
We had a nine players, and it was a blast. There was no communication, and we still completed it.
Why not add Matchmaking to make it easier for everyone to jump into this event, it is not mechanic heavy at all!
Doesn't messaging random people in patrol with the battle.net tags of other people to get a group together just seem ridiculous?
Please Bungie, let us all enjoy EP. I had a blast while it lasted.

You know I'm still trying to find a post that says how to get an escalation started with randoms because I can't find anyone willing to help me. Literally just want to get the world line zero catalyst objective this week. But I though on this and thebonly 5hing bungie needs to do is add a mechanic to join instance. Makes thing simpler.

Edited by Xc_LuxZenRa: 7/19/2018 1:38:26 AMEww EP is only for the Elite! Scrub!! Only the top .1% have access to EP rewards! EP shouldn’t be accessible by all, its endgame content any only a rareified few should get to play it. If you can’t be bothered to go outside of the game you don’t deserve to play the game, what’s wrong with you. #LFGetgoodscrub

BUNGIE DO THIS ALREADY. Your activity is not organic like you thought. It needs matchmaking or AT LEAST the ability for more than 3 players to get together into an escalation match.
-
Agreed. Plus, I’m really tired of joining people through lfg only to find out that they’re farming the boss. That shit sucks. “Stop shooting! Only primaries! No more damage! Just stand around for 3 minutes!” (Someone leaves) “Hurry, post for a novalock for damage!” “How about we just do it with 8 people since it’s so easy?” “Nooooo rabble rabble rabble we need the dps rabble rabble rabble.” If Bungie just did a better job of funneling players into populated instances, that might work. Or, they could be cool like Warframe and let us choose which instance we want to join in public spaces... imagine seeing a list of instances and how populated they are and choosing which one you want to join...

Finding people doesn’t mean jackshit if the weapon drop rates are 5%. I’m luck to even get the Ikelos Sniper, probably the best PvE Sniper in the game.

Edited by Whiskey Chits: 7/18/2018 5:11:53 PMOr... And hear me out. You and me petition Tootsie corporation to make bologna slices of their delicious tootsie rolls. We use the slices for gooey, yet crunchie peanut butter with a drizzle of honey - tootsie sandwiches. I’m the brains - you’re the talent. Sell it and we’ll share the profits.
-
I'd settle for actual drops, the only time I have completed it (after 3 hours of trying) I received 2 Shader's... No weapons No Armor Just.... 2 Shader's.... You know it's bad when you get less than Two Tokens and a Blue

Destiny Community: No matchmaking for Raids!? This can’t possibly be any worse! Bungie: Hold my beer.

Edited by Galactic Zones: 7/17/2018 5:10:13 PM100% agree. EP is a cool concept but the implementation is terrible. Should’ve been a separate activity with matchmaking or at the very least the size of patrol teams ought to have increased. But don’t expect Bungie to change things any time soon. They only listen to streamers and “content creators” nowadays. The average Destiny player has been “forsaken”.

something. ppl want to join forces but have to manipulate to do it. isnt manipulation :( upon. didnt somebody say this was intended for a fireteam of 3 to do. maybe with 2 other trios ,but the server would never put them together . ...... .......
-
It just occurred to me how to solve this issue much more easily. If Bungie changed "Leave FireTeam" from sending you to orbit to putting you in the same world instance as you are now (for patrols only), problem is solved. Here is how it would work. A 3 person FireTeam goes to mars. After arrival, the two non leaders choose "Leave FireTeam" option. They remain on Mars in the same instances as the other members. We now have 3 fire teams on Mars, whom then invite friends or other interested parties to join them. Now we have 9 people in 3 fire teams on Mars.

EP is just too complicated for random people to do, matchmaking won’t work
-
Yes, it's ridiculous that so few people can play this content. D2 needs this content - even Prison in D1 had ways to play with either matchmaking or as a solo challenge. What was wrong with Archon's Forge? This is only being played by the smallest percentage of players. And it's idiocy.
-
its easy peazy to set up bro.
-
It's intended to be a 3-person activity, not 9 or 15 or whatever. If they added matchmaking to allow more people, they would also increase the difficulty accordingly. The fact that it is at all possible to get into EP with more people, makes it easier than they intended it.
-
Edited by mrbird33: 7/18/2018 5:26:46 AMNo matchmaking needed. Its been nerfed down to nothing already, any group of randoms, 4 or 5 people can do it. We ran it wth 3 clan members and what ever randoms were already there snd it was a breeze

Making friends is the true engram in Escalation Protocol
-
Destiny endgame content just can’t be done without 6 people on voice chat, also the shotgun should have a lower % in RNG
-
Last time i wanted to do ep i got tired of slow lfg and just equipped nightstalker/o-rig, tractor cannon, and a void secondary then stood on mars for about ten minutes. If you've got an obvious ep loadout, are a high enough level to damage the final boss, and have a bit of patience the people looking for players will find you. Not to mention theres no one on mars not trying to do ep on a non flashpoint week.
-
Or they could do something even simpler. Just make EP just like any other public event. It has a timer and is shown on the map and people could gather for it. Either suggestion would work, but to let it lament like it is is just plain stupid.
-
The simplest solution is to reconfigure the network rule of 5 spawnable players. It's the most common amount of players found on all destinations. Bungie caps it this way to reduce network server cost. Remove the 5 player throttle Bungie!
