I want answers from the Summit!!! Refuse to support Bungie until they admit fault to community.

I have watched several videos from the community that went to the summit. It's very frustrating watching videos that are all under NDA's. It's understandable that they can't discuss hidden features about the game, but I want some answers to the questions they asked. Here is the basic question that needs to be answered, what the hell happened with destiny 2? I know some content creators said that Bungie was answering some of the tough questions there with the decision making and direction of the game. I need to hear directly from Bungie what went wrong with the game. Until Bungie can admit some fault to the community, I won't be purchasing anything from the studio.

  • We've all been asking for this for months and it's fallen on deaf ears within the Bungie kingdom. I know they won't do because now they're focused on the Sep update. The summit was a joke as I'm 100 percent confident none of the streamers were allowed to ask any questions about how and why d2 was launched the way it was. There's just no accountability at all. I'm with you, screw them until they can come out and admit why this trainwreck was released the way it was.

    • If they admit some fault, they will get nothing but hate spewed at them, there is no winning in this situation other than all the people asking for them to say that they did something wrong feeling like they had won a meaningless battle. What would change if they said sorry? On a corporate level, it looks bad for them to make a public apology, especially to all the self-entitled people here on the forums.

    • Wait, is this the same people that played d2 and curse of osiris before it was released? The same people who was singing destiny 2 praises before and left as soon as the community said WTF is this crap? You want there unbiased opinion and questions answered? Had they stood up to bungie, bite the hand that was feeding them and said hell no the community isnt going to like this. Maybe we wouldn't have had the epic failures that we had with this game.

Yeah, the YouTubers all show up and walk away with threats of getting their asses sued off if they say anything. It's just some PR tactic that's going to backfire on them because they still think we're stupid. If I'm wrong, so be it, but so far history has proven otherwise. Go find out if it was all Bs in September, one thing is for certain that I'm not pre-ordering their garbage ever again

Does it actually really matter? Genuine question here. The streamers told Bungie a lot of stuff that they wanted to see in the game. It sounds like Bungie have realised, from this meeting, that the streamers are pretty clueless. Even refusing to let them steer the game instead of listening to the wider communities voices. At this point there's not really anything that can come out of this aside from, hopefully, Bungie finally waking up to the need to create some kind of actual dialog with the main community. That's the only way this game get's saved at this point. Takeaway 1 for Bungie. Just because someone is streaming the game and has some followers doesn't mean that have a clue what those people actually want in the game. Takeaway 2 for Bungie. The streamers don't take into account how anything will work in the game when they are suggesting the ideas. Takeaway 3 for Bungie. Lore masters don't actually know how to tell a story. They just have odd ideas of what is happening based on their own pre-conceptions and wants. You can't actually take anything from that except that people just want a coherent story to be maintained and a writing team that respects the lore from the first game. The take away for us players will be. Bungie don't really care as long as you buy the fall DLC.

          • So after an over hyped mess of a sequel, infested with micro transactions, game systems which hinder the player experience to promote monetisation, countless reskinned and reused assets, poor communication and vague responses from developer....... all that and more shady business practices but yet the fact streamers/content creators can’t discuss a product pre-release because of a very commonplace NDA that is what has pushed you over edge!?!? Ffs......

          • Call me a sadist but I would have 10x more respect and faith in Bungie if they just came out and said "Yeah...we admit we stuffed up and we'll try and do better". But we all know they won't do that for two reasons... 1) They're too proud/blind/arrogant to admit fault 2) The investors wouldn't like it one little bit Shame really.

            • It's funny Bungie ignored us asking these questions yet gladly tell the summit then hides it behind an NDA. Trust me, the summit NOR Bungie will ever reveal the questions and answers that took place. The every player like us will continue to be ignored and neglected by both

            •
sorry for the spam oops, just trying to inspire the community
#WeMessedUpWithD2//the new #RemoveEververse #WeMessedUpWithD2 has one simple goal. To encourage Bungie to begin their next blogpost with that exact statement, verbatim. A blogpost with an opening admittance that things went wrong along the way of Destiny 2's development would go leaps and bounds to give the community understanding, closure, and most importantly - an opportunity to respect Bungie again. Bungie could right many wrongs and establish a direct and clear connection for feedback, and all it would take is 5 words and 1 number.

"We messed up with Destiny 2"

We have an opportunity to fix this game. It started at the summit, it can continue here, in the forums. Let's see it happen.

            • I want to see change occur at Bungie at the SR Management level to show the community that they are serious about this franchise going forward. If change doesn't occur who's to say that D3 won't be a shitshow as well given that the "(no)brains behind D2" are Developing it? Before you reach for your wallet come September think if what you're buying is truly worth it based on what's been delivered thus far? Then ask yourself "What has changed to provide me with confidence in this franchise going forward?" Deej knows that Bungie's reputation has been damaged. That's been communicated. Still though nothing except a Streamer Puppet Show to get feedback on the game? That's where we're at.

            • Yeah, the lack of an apology is one of the main reason why Bungiue has developed the bad reputation that they now have. The community is currently 'mourning the death of the Destiny that they all love, but we can't move on to the next stage of grief ( acceptance ) because we haven't gotten any closure as to why Destiny had to die. I also feel that the community would be less harsh on Bungie if they properly explained why they made a lot of the controversial choices ( like tokens, consumable shaders, removing kiosks, less vault space, etc ) that they did with Destiny 2, you know, help us understand their design philosophy. To a certain extent, they've already explained things like the removal of random rolls and the changes they made to the weapon slots ( PVP balance ), these decisions weren't popular but at least I understand the logic on paper ( which was sound ) so it's hard to fault them from coming to the descisions that they made.

                • Bungie will never admit fault. This ship will sink long before this studios hubris is set aside. You dont know what went wrong? The guy they picked for lead design wasnt up to the job. He was great coloring withing the lines as a raid design lead but once given too much power he lost control and -blam!-ed with every detail and now the game has his stink all over it. The stupid is baked in.

                • AND YET, the CEO of Activision Publishing during the last earnings call took responsibility for Destiny 2. HE admitted it was Activision that directed Bungie to make it more casual shooter and less RPG. Not saying Luke Smith is blameless, but he was under orders (and before anyone raises the Nuremberg Trials argument, this wasn't genocidal war crimes, this was a commercial transaction).

                  • I can understand why the attendees cannot talk about new content but do not understand why the terms of the NDA covers how they are going to or not fix the mechanics type issues which plague the game at the moment. Until Bungie makes a clear statement that they are going to issue a recap of the meeting and what they have committed to fixing then the community should be suspicious given behaviour to date.

Completely agree. Why even have a summit if no one can share anything from it. Instead we get shills on YouTube saying “We can’t tell you anything. Just trust us, Bungie is better”. And this is from people who largely called for most of the nerfs and changes to D1 that got up D2. Also, the NDA is at least active for the summit attendees until the fall expansion.
