Hello everyone. As you can see by the picture I posted from IGN, Bungie does not believe that PvP needs adjusting. Saying that the claim "doesn't corroborate what we have data-wise." So I figured I would make this poll to give the community an opportunity to vote and share their opinions on how they feel about the state of PvP and its importance to the game. Try and be constructive. Criticism is necessary to help Bungie grow, but I don't want people to come here and just bash them so they won't even listen. I love this game and believe in it's potential. Let us show them that the community does want these changes and sometimes just following data can be misleading.

    My thoughts of the PC version and what needs to change. [b]Game Types/Progression[/b] Need to separate some game types and give some form of progression, remove all TDM from the competitive rotation, add control or something objective based. [b]Dedicated Servers[/b] I've given the hybrid p2p a go, it's ok but not cutting it for competitive.(to many instances of people not taking damage) [b]No 3rd person elements[/b] Swords and emotes allow people to see around corners not good in any competitive FPS game. [b]Aim Assist[/b] We have stats everywhere that apply aim assist, you can't balance aim assist vs no aim assist, simply put a low skilled mouse and keyboard player vs a low skilled pad player using a gun with +100 aim assist stat will be getting smashed 24/7, you mentioned the PC version could go in another direction from console version this stat needs replacing along with aim assist in PVP. [b]Radar[/b] Currently removes all elements of surprise and it's not fun to stare at a radar 24/7 (no longer need my headset) maybe fine for casual but definitely should not be in competitive. (should only show people shooting or be removed) [b]Hitbox[/b] Not sure if it's the p2p or they are just massive but it seems impossible to miss shots o.O All in all i find destiny a fun game, the game play is there but it needs a few tweaks to make it great! with private games coming early next year these are a few things i feel will be vital for the PC competitive arena.

    • 1) needs some sort of elo system in place. Crucible etc is fine but trials of the nine is either you meet a trash team or get steamrolled. Maybe get rewarded tokens weekly depending on your elo. Higher elo = more tokens. tokens and can only purchase certain items at a certain elo. Flawless ticket will net you extra tokens. 2) get rid of aim assist for pc. No way it is anywhere near "competitive" if you throw in aim assist for controllers. If someone wants to use a controller they shouldve bought it on console. Boggles my mind how they want to make this game competitive but allows aim assist. 3) better anticheat 4) item stats should matter! Options 2 and 3 will cut down on complaints and excuses from players. Other than that i really have no complaints. Other than pvp, bungie shouldve made destiny 2 an expansion. Why would you split up the whole playerbase and make them choose 1 or 2?!

      • Yea, pvp needs love. The modes are limited. Maps are limited. Full pugs vs premades is never a good idea! Spawning is a mess. Maps aren’t that small or overcrowded to justify how often I spawn in front of or behind an enemy! CTF turns into “who can get power ammo for their rocket launcher first” too often... Limited weapon viability. Sure, you can take anything into pvp you want, but unless it’s one of a couple specific types, your at a disadvantage. Maps are kinda bland. Nothing new or exciting. Why give me the ability to jump 30 feet into the air if you won’t give me a use for it?! Why “first to six”?!? First, that’s a weird number to choose and second, the rewards don’t justify SIX F***ING ROUNDS!!! In general, many of the round based modes have too many rounds... Garbage rewards. Even with a ghost that boosts the number of tokens I get, it feels way too grindy...

      • I will never play PvP on this game until they put it on actual servers. Giving some person host in 2017 is unconscionable, lazy and inexcusable.

        • Where do I even begin? - Can't pick your preferred mode. Is this the only way they can get people to play supremacy? Who signed off on this? - Can't go through one night without getting shot through walls. - A "good" match has a tendency to boil down to two teams standing on opposite sides of the map trying to stay awake while they take potshots at each other. TOTALLY E-SPORT MATERIAL GUYS!!! - The rewards system is an absolute joke that I swear increases the chance for duplicates every time you get one. The fact that doing well doesn't even give you a bonus is both incredibly stupid and just makes it more likely that people are gonna come in, get 1 kill and sit in a corner for the rest of the match. Why bother putting in an effort when everybody's just gonna get the same participation trophy? - The PvE gameplay was butchered for the sake of PvP balance......and PvP still sucks. Gee thanks for ruining the part of the game I liked while also increasing how much time I spend in the part I don't like thanks to it's crap reward system. I'd rank the current state of Destiny PvP a Fighting Lion/10. It's just......the worst.

        • No game mode choice for the players is really silly. I do no understand why we only get the competitive or the quick game when in all reality both those are the same thing without any rankings. Not having Crucible bounties to level up my rep is really boring too plus getting gear that has the exact same perks as the next guy is not too enticing. I want to have that feeling of power again when I have a gun with perks that suit my style will aid me. The lack of power of grenades and the slow super charge has been covered so I will not mention that.

            • The problem is that on these fourms, you cannot get an accurate representation of the Destiny community. Only a small percentage of players use the fourms. An even smaller yet loudly outspoken percentage do nothing but complain and cry here. So, unfortunately your poll will only display this small percentage of players and not even close to a large sample of Destiny 2 consumers.

                • PVP in my OPPINION deffinetly needs a revamp, it's current state is dull and boring. As the photo state's all my favorite streamers and YouTubers are not only over it, but so are their viewers , so bad to the extent that these people are scared and trying to find new ventures - bungie you're killing you're player base and a large portion of free marketing it's a lose lose. PVP just feels dull, slow, and boring Daddycanada basically covered all my main issues but I do have one more question, what's the point of being a hunter? The whole idea is to be an acrobat of death right? The whole idea based around the class is jumping around, dodging and shooting. What's the point if everyone's sitting at the back of the map, and every single shot taken in midair is complete RNG, the whole purpose of utilizing that class was destroyed by the "cater to casuals" ideology, that's just one example of the many things the current sandbox has taken the fun out of.

                  • Its not perfect. There are some obvious adjustments, some not as much. Cooldowns seem slightly too slow, but grenades are still all over the place. Not sure about them. The Damage also seems low, but again, not sure how much they do. The AoE/DoT ones are dominant, and should remain relevant. Pulse Rifles don't do enough damage.                     • The only definitive and actual information they have [i]is[/i] in the form of the data and information dumps they have, even if those are only basic readouts on log-in rates, item usage and so on. We the audience also don't really have a defined answer as to what kind of design goal is in mind, so it is difficult to say if the game environment is truly on par for where it is intended to be. There can be no definitive answer from these forums because only a portion of the community that plays the game participates in discussions here or elsewhere and it's next to impossible to determine if said community member is only making statements to direct towards a specific stance or goal and not one of unbiased discussion.

                    • I vote to make the adjustments. There are some things better in the d2 pvp compared to d1 but I do like d1 better in pvp sense. The changes I do like are getting rid of the one shot kills which don't require much skill such as the sticky nades and shoulder charge. However I believe the nerf on these are too significant. Perhaps maybe they should leave the opponent very weak instead of only doing close to half health damage. What I don't like that changed. The big one to me where I think almost everyone else would agree on is the lack of game queues. Having only 2 to choose from is silly to me. What if I want to play survival and not countdown. I should have that option. I think supers are way too weak. We are guardians. The light is what makes us superior and I felt like a god with my super in d1 whereas d2 I feel it hardly gives me an advantage. Too much health. 1v1 game fights are becoming almost obsolete because whenever you engage in one, one of the combatents runs away which forces you to chase which leads to getting teamshotted. Teamshots. I believe this is because of too much health. But I do not like how in order to be successful you need to run around with your teammates. It's a boring strategy in my opinion. Better balanced weapons. When everyone is using the same 4 or 5 weapons in the game. There is an issue. This however was also an issue in d1. Exotics need to be better. You only get one. They should always be the best. Also this was an issue in d1. Power weapons. I really do not like the new system. I hate never having a sniper. I loved running around with my ice breaker in d1. I liked the year 2 d1 meta in that sense. Yes I know people complained about it but I never had an issue with it. To me it was a good balance between primary and secondary use. Servers. Please get dedicated servers. Also a d1 issue. Create your own subclass tree. Wouldn't that be a cool idea? Instead of having to pick from one or the other. Let us choose 4 perks of the 8 available per subclass. Bring back god rolls. Having dedicated perks to each gun takes out the grind in pvp. I understand it is more fair but it doesn't give us any extra incentive to keep playing. Thanks for reading! I love this franchise and hope bungie will listen to its community.
